2. Water Tank
Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold, filtered water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.
3. Initial Rinse
Before first use, perform an initial rinse to clean the internal components:
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Turn on the main power switch (usually indicated by a power symbol).
- Place a large container under the steam wand. Open the steam knob fully.
- Activate the hot water button (often indicated by a water droplet icon). Allow water to flow through the steam wand until the tank is nearly empty.
- Close the steam knob and turn off the hot water button.
- Repeat this process by filling the tank again and running water through the group head (without a portafilter) by activating the brew button.

Operating Instructions
1. Powering On and Heating Up
Press the main power switch. The machine will begin to heat up. The indicator lights will show when the machine has reached its optimal brewing temperature (typically 15-20 minutes). For best results, allow the machine to heat for at least 20-30 minutes to ensure all components, including the portafilter, are adequately warmed.

2. Brewing Espresso
- Grind Coffee: Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
- Dose and Tamp: Place the desired filter basket (single or double) into the portafilter. Fill with ground coffee and tamp firmly and evenly using the provided tamper. Wipe any excess grounds from the rim.
- Insert Portafilter: Securely insert the portafilter into the group head.
- Brew: Place your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts. Press the brew button. Monitor the extraction; a good shot typically takes 20-30 seconds for 1-2 ounces of espresso.
- Stop Brew: Press the brew button again to stop the flow.
3. Steaming Milk
- Activate Steam: Press the steam button. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the boiler has reached steaming temperature.
- Purge Wand: Briefly open the steam knob to purge any condensed water from the wand into a cloth or drip tray. Close the knob.
- Steam Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of cold milk in a stainless steel pitcher. Open the steam knob fully. Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air for aeration, then raise it to create a swirling motion for texturing.
- Stop Steaming: Close the steam knob when the milk reaches desired temperature and texture.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth and briefly purge steam again to clear any milk residue.
4. Hot Water Dispensing
Place a cup under the steam wand. Press the hot water button (water droplet icon) and open the steam knob. Hot water will dispense. Close the steam knob and press the hot water button again to stop.
Maintenance
1. Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
- Portafilter and Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and basket under hot water.
- Group Head: Briefly run water through the group head after removing the portafilter to rinse away loose coffee grounds.
- Steam Wand: Always wipe and purge the steam wand immediately after steaming milk.
2. Backflushing (Weekly/Bi-Weekly)
Backflushing cleans the group head and three-way solenoid valve. Use the backflushing basket insert (blind filter) and a suitable espresso machine cleaner.
- Insert the blind filter into the portafilter. Add a small amount of espresso machine cleaner (e.g., 1/4 teaspoon).
- Lock the portafilter into the group head.
- Activate the brew button for 10 seconds, then stop for 5 seconds. Repeat 5-10 times.
- Remove the portafilter, rinse the blind filter, and repeat the process without cleaner to rinse.
3. Descaling (Every 2-3 Months, depending on water hardness)
Descaling removes mineral buildup from the boiler and water paths. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines.
- Prepare the descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
- Run approximately 1/3 of the solution through the group head (using the brew button).
- Run approximately 1/3 of the solution through the steam wand (using the hot water button and opening the steam knob).
- Allow the machine to sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Run the remaining solution through the group head and steam wand until the tank is empty.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill with fresh, clean water.
- Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the group head and steam wand to thoroughly rinse the machine.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow from group head/steam wand. | Empty water tank, pump airlock, clogged group head/wand. | Refill tank. Prime pump by opening steam knob and running hot water. Clean group head/wand. |
| Espresso extracts too fast (under-extraction). | Coffee ground too coarse, insufficient dose, weak tamp. | Grind finer, increase coffee dose, tamp more firmly. |
| Espresso extracts too slow/not at all (over-extraction). | Coffee ground too fine, overdose, excessive tamp. | Grind coarser, decrease coffee dose, tamp lighter. |
| No steam from wand. | Steam button not activated, boiler not hot enough, wand clogged. | Ensure steam button is on and light is illuminated. Allow more time to heat. Clean steam wand tip. |
| Machine not heating up. | Power switch off, machine unplugged, internal issue. | Check power connection and switch. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
