8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your OREI UKM-404, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure the 24V DC power adapter is securely connected to both the UKM-404 and a working power outlet. Check if the power indicator LED on the front panel is lit.
  • Devices Not Detected:
    • Verify that all USB cables (Type A to Type B for hosts, Type A for devices) are securely connected.
    • Ensure the correct host is selected for the device you are trying to use, either via the front panel buttons or remote control.
    • Try connecting the USB device directly to the computer to confirm the device itself is functional.
    • Restart the UKM-404 unit and the connected computers.
  • Switching Issues:
    • If using the IR remote, ensure there is a clear line of sight to the IR receiver. Replace remote batteries if necessary.
    • Test switching using the front panel buttons to isolate if the issue is with the remote or the unit itself.
  • Slow USB Speeds: Ensure all connected cables are USB 3.0 compatible. While the UKM-404 is backward compatible, using older USB 2.0 or 1.1 cables/devices will limit speeds to their respective standards.
