Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and safety of your solar charge controller. Follow the steps below carefully.
Wiring Diagram
Connect the components in the following order to ensure correct operation and prevent damage:
- Connect the battery to the charge controller. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Connect the solar panel(s) to the charge controller. Ensure correct polarity.
- (Optional) Connect the load (e.g., power inverter) to the charge controller. Ensure correct polarity.

Figure 2: Setup Diagram. This diagram illustrates the correct wiring sequence for connecting the solar panel, battery, and optional power inverter to the solar charge controller.
Important: Always connect the battery first, then the solar panel. Disconnect in the reverse order (solar panel first, then battery) when removing the system.
Operating Instructions
LCD Display and Buttons
The backlit LCD display provides real-time information about your solar system. Use the "TYPE" and "AMP/VOLT" buttons to navigate and view different parameters.

Charging Stages (5-Stage PWM)
The controller employs a 5-stage PWM charging process to efficiently charge and maintain your battery:
- Soft Start: When batteries are deeply discharged (below 10V for 12V system, 20V for 24V system), the controller gently ramps up the battery voltage.
- Bulk Charge: Maximum current charging until the battery voltage rises to the absorption level.
- Absorption Charge: Constant voltage charging phase, typically when the battery is over 85% charged.
- Equalization Charge: For WET or Calcium batteries, this stage automatically occurs every 28 days to balance cell voltages and restore full capacity. LiFePO4, LTO, GEL, and AGM batteries do not require equalization.
- Float Charge: Maintains the battery at a full charge by providing a small, constant voltage, compensating for self-discharge.

Supported Battery Types
The LNEX solar charge controller is compatible with a wide range of battery chemistries, making it versatile for various applications:
- LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate)
- LTO (Lithium Titanate Oxide)
- GEL
- AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
- Lead-Acid (Flooded)
- Calcium
- EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery)
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and reliable performance of your LNEX Solar Charge Controller, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the controller with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Check Connections: Annually inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to power loss or overheating.
- Waterproof Integrity: Although the controller is IP65 waterproof, avoid submerging it in water. Ensure the mounting area allows for proper drainage if exposed to rain.
- Temperature Sensor: If using the external temperature sensor, ensure it is securely attached to the battery to provide accurate temperature readings for optimized charging.

Figure 5: Temperature Sensor Port. This image highlights the dedicated port for the temperature sensor, which helps monitor battery temperature for optimal performance and protection.
- Environmental Conditions: While designed for outdoor use, extreme temperatures or direct, prolonged exposure to harsh elements should be minimized if possible to extend product life.
