Setup Guide

1. Battery Installation

Main Unit:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit.
  2. Insert 3 x AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

Outdoor Sensor:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the outdoor sensor.
  2. Insert 2 x AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

Note: Always insert batteries into the outdoor sensor first, then the main unit, to ensure proper synchronization.

2. Sensor Synchronization and Channel Selection

The main unit can connect to up to three outdoor sensors. The included sensor is typically pre-set to Channel 1. If you have multiple sensors, ensure each is set to a different channel (1, 2, or 3) using the switch inside the sensor's battery compartment.

To switch between channels on the main unit or scan through them:

  • Press the "CH" button on the main unit's touch screen to cycle through Channel 1, Channel 2, and Channel 3.
  • To enable channel scanning (displaying data from each channel for 10 seconds), press and hold the "CH" button until the channel indicator starts cycling.

3. Placement

Main Unit:

  • Tabletop Placement: Use the integrated stand bracket on the back of the unit to place it on any flat surface, such as a desk or nightstand.
  • Wall Mounting: Utilize the hanging hole on the back of the unit to mount it securely on a wall using a screw (not included).

Outdoor Sensor:

  • Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location away from direct sunlight and precipitation to ensure accurate readings.
  • Ensure the sensor is within 100 meters (328 feet) of the main unit, minimizing obstructions like thick walls or large metal objects for optimal signal transmission.

2. Time and Date Settings

The weather station features a DCF radio-controlled clock. Upon initial setup or after battery replacement, the unit will automatically attempt to synchronize with the DCF signal. This process may take several minutes or hours depending on your location and signal strength.

  • The RCC indicator (4) will flash during synchronization and become solid when a signal is successfully received.
  • To manually initiate or stop RCC synchronization, press and hold the "RCC/SET" button (15).
  • To manually set time and date (if RCC signal is unavailable or preferred): Press and hold "RCC/SET" until the setting mode is activated. Use "CH/▲" (16) and "MEM/▼" (14) to adjust values, and "RCC/SET" to confirm and move to the next setting.

3. Temperature and Humidity Display

  • The indoor temperature (11) and humidity (10) are displayed on the left side of the screen.
  • The outdoor temperature (18) and humidity (13) for the selected channel (21) are displayed on the right side.
  • To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉), press the "MEM/▼" button (14).

4. Max/Min Records

The weather station records the maximum and minimum indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity values.

  • Press the "MEM/▼" button (14) repeatedly to cycle through current, maximum (MAX), and minimum (MIN) readings.
  • To clear the recorded MAX/MIN values, press and hold the "MEM/▼" button while MAX or MIN values are displayed.

5. Weather Forecast

The weather forecast icon (1) predicts the weather for the next 12-24 hours based on atmospheric pressure changes. The accuracy is approximately 70-75% after 48 hours of continuous operation.

  • Icons include Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Cloudy, Rainy, and Snowy.

6. Temperature Alerts

  • Freezing Point Alert: When the outdoor temperature is between 0℃ and 2.9℃, the freezing point icon (19) will flash. If the outdoor temperature drops below 0℃, the icon will remain solid.
  • Customizable High/Low Temperature Alerts: Press the "ALERT" button (17) to activate or deactivate temperature alerts. Press and hold "ALERT" to set specific high or low temperature thresholds for indoor or outdoor readings. Use "CH/▲" and "MEM/▼" to adjust values.

7. Backlight Operation

When powered by batteries, press the top backlight button (2) to activate the white backlight for approximately 20 seconds for improved visibility in low light conditions.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: When the low battery indicator (12) appears for either the main unit or the outdoor sensor, replace the batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation and accurate readings. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.
  • Cleaning: Clean the main unit and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the display or casing.
  • Environmental Considerations: Avoid exposing the main unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity. While the outdoor sensor is designed for outdoor use, placing it in a sheltered location will prolong its lifespan and improve accuracy.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No display on main unit.Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted.Check battery polarity and replace with new AAA batteries.
Outdoor temperature/humidity not displayed or inaccurate.Sensor batteries are dead; sensor is out of range; interference; sensor not synchronized.Replace sensor batteries. Move sensor closer to main unit. Reduce obstructions. Re-synchronize sensor by removing batteries from both units, then reinserting into sensor first, then main unit. Ensure sensor is on correct channel.
Time is incorrect or not setting automatically.Weak or no DCF signal; interference.Move the main unit to a location with better signal reception (e.g., near a window, away from electronics). Manually set the time if automatic synchronization fails consistently.
Weather forecast seems inaccurate.Insufficient data collected; rapid weather changes.Allow 48 hours for the station to collect sufficient atmospheric pressure data for more accurate forecasts. Forecasts are predictions and may not always be 100% accurate.
