5. Setup
5.1 Initial Setup and App Installation
- Download the App: Search for "DELTACO SMART HOME" in your mobile device's app store (available for Android and iOS). Download and install the application.
- Register/Log In: Open the DELTACO SMART HOME app and register a new account or log in if you already have one.
- Power On the Camera: Connect the provided USB cable to the camera's DC 5V port and the power adapter. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. The camera will power on and may perform an initial self-check.
- Add Device: In the DELTACO SMART HOME app, tap the "+" icon (usually in the top right corner) to add a new device. Select "Security Camera" or "Smart Camera" from the list.
- Network Configuration: Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the camera to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct. The app may guide you through a QR code scanning process or sound pairing.
- Placement: Place the camera in your desired indoor location. Ensure it has a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor and is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
5.2 Inserting a MicroSD Card (Optional)
To enable local video recording, you can insert a MicroSD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera.
- Locate the MicroSD card slot on the camera. This is typically found by gently tilting the camera lens upwards to reveal the slot underneath.
- Carefully insert the MicroSD card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down (or as indicated by a small icon next to the slot) until it clicks into place.
- In the DELTACO SMART HOME app, navigate to the camera settings to format the MicroSD card if prompted. This ensures proper functionality.
6. Operating the Camera
Once set up, you can control and monitor your camera using the DELTACO SMART HOME app.
6.1 Live View and Pan-Tilt Control
- Open the DELTACO SMART HOME app and select your camera from the device list.
- The app will display the live video feed.
- Use the on-screen joystick or directional arrows to pan (move horizontally) and tilt (move vertically) the camera lens to adjust the viewing angle.
6.2 Two-Way Audio
- While in live view, tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap again to end speaking.
- The camera's built-in microphone will pick up audio from the camera's vicinity.
6.3 Motion Detection and Alerts
- In the camera settings within the app, enable or disable motion detection.
- You can set a schedule for when motion detection should be active.
- When motion is detected, the camera will record footage (if a MicroSD card is inserted or cloud storage is enabled) and send push notifications to your phone.
6.4 Recording and Playback
- Manual Recording: Tap the record icon in the live view to manually start and stop video recording to your phone.
- Screenshot: Tap the camera icon to take a still image screenshot.
- Playback: Access recorded footage via the "Playback" or "History" section in the app. You can view recordings stored on the MicroSD card or cloud service.
