1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the SanBouSi Electric BBQ Grill. This 1800W smokeless grill is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, offering a convenient way to barbecue with adjustable temperature control. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure safe and efficient use of your appliance.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before using the grill.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors if not specifically designed for outdoor use or in wet conditions.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Ensure the oil pan is filled with water before use to minimize smoke and catch drippings.

5. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your electric BBQ grill:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the main grill unit on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance around the grill for ventilation.
  3. Insert Oil Pan: Slide the oil pan into the designated slot beneath the heating elements.
  4. Add Water: Fill the oil pan with water up to the indicated level. This helps to reduce smoke and makes cleaning easier by preventing drippings from burning onto the pan.
  5. Place Grill Net: Position the grill net securely over the heating elements.

6. Operating Instructions

Operating your SanBouSi Electric BBQ Grill is straightforward:

  1. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard 110V electrical outlet. The power indicator light (green) will illuminate.
  2. Set Temperature: Turn the temperature control knob to your desired setting. The heating indicator light (orange) will turn on, indicating that the heating elements are active. The adjustable temperature range is approximately 122°F (50°C) to 572°F (300°C).
  3. Preheat: Allow the grill to preheat for 5-10 minutes, or until it reaches the desired cooking temperature.
  4. Place Food: Carefully place food onto the grill net. The grill's design, with an oil pan below, helps to minimize smoke during cooking.
  5. Monitor Cooking: Turn food as needed to ensure even cooking. Adjust the temperature as required for different types of food.
  6. Finish Grilling: Once cooking is complete, turn the temperature control knob to the "OFF" position. Unplug the grill from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your grill:

  1. Cool Down: Always ensure the grill is unplugged and completely cool before attempting to clean it.
  2. Remove Components: Carefully remove the grill net and the oil pan from the main unit.
  3. Clean Grill Net and Oil Pan: Wash the stainless steel grill net and oil pan with warm, soapy water. A non-abrasive sponge or brush can be used to remove stubborn food residues. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit or its electrical components in water.
  5. Reassemble: Once all parts are clean and dry, reassemble the grill.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grill, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Grill Not Heating:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check if the temperature control knob is turned to an active heating setting (not "OFF").
    • Verify that the power outlet is functional by testing it with another appliance.
  • Excessive Smoke:
    • Ensure the oil pan is filled with water before and during use. The water helps to cool drippings and reduce smoke.
    • Excessive fat on food can cause smoke. Trim excess fat before grilling.
    • Ensure the grill and oil pan are clean from previous cooking residues.
  • Food Not Cooking Evenly:
    • Allow sufficient preheating time for the grill to reach a consistent temperature.
    • Avoid overcrowding the grill. Cook in batches if necessary to maintain even heat.
    • Turn food regularly to ensure all sides are cooked.
