Care and Maintenance

- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone's exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the microphone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the microphone with care to prevent drops or impacts, which can damage internal components.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RØDE X XCM-50, try the following steps:
- No Sound Output:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your computer.
- Check your computer's sound settings to confirm the XCM-50 is selected as the input and output device.
- Verify that the headphone volume knob on the microphone is turned up.
- Poor Audio Quality:
- Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly (6-12 inches from your mouth).
- Check for background noise in your environment. The cardioid pattern helps, but cannot eliminate all noise.
- Update your UNIFY software and microphone firmware to the latest versions.
- UNIFY Software Not Detecting Microphone:
- Restart your computer and the UNIFY software.
- Ensure your operating system recognizes the microphone as a USB audio device.
- Reinstall the UNIFY software if the issue persists.
