Setup

1. Charging the Headphones

Before first use, fully charge your BuddyPhones PlayEars Plus. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

1. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the charging port on the headphones.
2. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
3. The LED indicator will show charging status and turn off when fully charged.

2. Power On/Off

• To power on, press and hold the power button until the LED indicator lights up.
• To power off, press and hold the power button until the LED indicator turns off.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your headphones wirelessly:

1. Ensure the headphones are powered off.
2. Press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes blue and red, indicating pairing mode.
3. On your device (iPhone, iPad, Android, PC), go to Bluetooth settings and select "BuddyPhones PlayEars Plus" from the list of available devices.
4. Once connected, the LED indicator will show a solid blue light.

4. Wired Connection

For wired use or when the battery is low:

1. Plug one end of the 3.5mm audio cable into the headphone's audio jack.
2. Plug the other end into your device's 3.5mm audio port.
3. The headphones will automatically switch to wired mode.

Operating Instructions

1. Volume Control

Use the volume buttons on the headphones to adjust the sound level. The SafeAudio feature ensures the volume remains within safe listening limits.

2. Switching SafeAudio Volume Limit Modes

The BuddyPhones PlayEars Plus offers three volume limit modes: Kids Mode (0-85dB), Toddler Mode (0-75dB), and Travel Mode (0-94dB). The default mode is Kids Mode.

1. To toggle between modes, hold both the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons together for 2 seconds.
2. When switching to Travel Mode, three purple LED lights will flash.
3. When switching to Toddler Mode, one yellow LED light will flash.
4. When switching back to Kids Mode, two green LED lights will flash.

3. StudyMode

Activate StudyMode to isolate vocal frequencies, making speech clearer and easier to understand during lessons or video calls.

4. Using the Microphone

The built-in microphone allows for clear communication during online chats, virtual classes, or voice recordings.

5. BuddyLink for Sharing

Use the included BuddyLink cable to connect two pairs of BuddyPhones to a single audio source, allowing two users to listen simultaneously.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

• Wipe the headphones with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Avoid getting moisture into any openings.

2. Storage

When not in use, store the headphones in the provided fabric travel bag to protect them from dust and damage. The foldable design allows for compact storage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BuddyPhones PlayEars Plus, try the following:

• No Sound: Check volume levels on both headphones and the connected device. Ensure the headphones are charged and properly paired (if wireless) or connected (if wired).
• Cannot Pair Bluetooth: Ensure headphones are in pairing mode (flashing blue/red LED). Turn off and on your device's Bluetooth. Try resetting the headphones.
