Operating Instructions

Pan and Tilt Adjustments

The 24P Video Head features smooth and fluid pan and tilt movements for precise camera positioning.

  • Pan Lock: Loosen the pan lock knob (typically located at the base of the head) to allow 360-degree horizontal rotation. Tighten to lock the pan movement.
  • Tilt Lock: Loosen the tilt lock knob (typically on the side of the head) to allow vertical tilting. Tighten to lock the tilt movement.
  • Fluid Drag: The fluid head provides consistent drag for smooth movements. Adjust the tension if available, or rely on the inherent fluid design for optimal control.

Counterbalance System

The adjustable counterbalance system ensures a level and balanced shot, especially with heavier cameras.

  • When mounting your camera, the counterbalance helps prevent the camera from tipping forward or backward.
  • Adjust the camera's position on the quick release plate slightly forward or backward until the camera feels balanced and requires minimal effort to hold its position when the tilt lock is disengaged.

Height Adjustment

To adjust the tripod's height during operation:

  1. Ensure your camera is securely mounted.
  2. Carefully release the leg locks one section at a time.
  3. Extend or retract the leg sections to the desired height.
  4. Firmly re-engage all leg locks before releasing your grip on the camera.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the tripod and head with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust, dirt, and moisture. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Lubrication: The fluid head is factory-sealed and does not require user lubrication. Do not attempt to disassemble the head.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its soft carry case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, knobs, and leg locks to ensure they are tight and functioning correctly. If any part appears damaged, contact ProMaster support.
