Setup and Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge your Generac GB1000. This ensures optimal battery performance and longevity.

1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the power station and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
2. Initial Charge (Wall Outlet):
   • Connect the provided AC charging cable to the AC input port on the power station.
   • Plug the other end of the AC charging cable into a standard wall outlet (120V AC).
   • The display will show the charging status. The unit will charge from 0% to 80% in approximately 2.1 hours. A full charge may take longer.
3. Placement: Place the power station on a flat, stable surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Operating Instructions

Turning On/Off the Unit:

• Press and hold the Main ON/OFF Button for a few seconds to turn the unit on or off. The display will illuminate.
• To conserve power, the unit will automatically shut down if no output is detected for a period of time.

Using AC Outputs:

• Press the AC Output ON/OFF Button to activate the AC outlets. The AC icon will appear on the display.
• Plug your AC-powered devices into the NEMA 1-15R AC Receptacles.
• Ensure the total wattage of your devices does not exceed the unit's 1600W continuous output.
• Press the AC Output ON/OFF Button again to turn off the AC outlets when not in use.

Using DC Outputs (12V Car Port):

• Press the DC Output ON/OFF Button to activate the 12V car port. The DC icon will appear on the display.
• Plug your 12V DC devices into the car port.
• Press the DC Output ON/OFF Button again to turn off the DC output when not in use.

Using USB Outputs (USB-A & USB-C):

• The USB-A and USB-C output ports are typically active when the unit is on.
• Connect your USB-powered devices to the appropriate USB-A or USB-C Output Receptacles.

Wireless Charging Pad:

• Place your Qi-compatible device directly on the wireless charging pad located on top of the unit.
• Ensure the device is centered on the pad for optimal charging.
• The wireless charging pad provides up to 15W of power.

Display Information:

The 4.7" multi-color display provides real-time information:

• Battery Level: Percentage remaining.
• Input Power: Current wattage being drawn during charging.
• Output Power: Current wattage being supplied to devices.
• Remaining Runtime/Charge Time: Estimated time based on current power usage/input.
• Error Indicators: Warnings for overload, over-temperature, etc.

Charging the Power Station

The Generac GB1000 offers multiple charging options:

• AC Wall Outlet Charging: (As described in Setup) Connect the AC charging cable to the unit and a standard wall outlet.
• Solar Panel Charging:
  • Connect compatible solar panels (sold separately) to the solar input port on the power station.
  • Place solar panels in direct sunlight for maximum efficiency.
  • The display will indicate solar input wattage.
• Car Charging:
  • Use a compatible car charger (not included, typically sold separately) to connect the unit to your vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter port.
  • This method is slower than AC or solar charging.

Maintenance and Storage

Maintenance:

• Cleaning: Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
• Battery Health: For optimal battery life, fully charge the unit at least once every 3-6 months, even if not in use.

Storage:

• Store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid storing in environments with high humidity.
• It is recommended to store the unit with a charge level between 50% and 80%.
