Setup

Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge the Block Rocker XL. Connect the included power cable to the AC IN port on the back of the speaker and plug it into a power outlet. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status. A full charge provides up to 90 hours of use.

Connecting via Bluetooth

1. Power on the Block Rocker XL by pressing the Power button.
2. Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled.
3. On the Block Rocker XL, press the Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode. The Bluetooth icon on the display will flash.
4. On your device, select "Block Rocker XL" from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
5. Once paired, the Bluetooth icon will be solid, and you can begin streaming audio.

Microphone and Instrument Connection

• Plug the included microphone into the 1/4" MIC IN port.
• For an instrument, plug it into the 1/4" INST IN port.
• Adjust the MIC and INST volume knobs on the control panel as needed.

Operating Your Block Rocker XL

Using the Radio

Press the FM button to switch to FM radio mode. Use the Tune/Track buttons to scan for stations. You can save up to 6 preset stations by holding down one of the numbered Radio buttons (1-6) until the display flashes.

Sound Effects (Touch FX)

The Block Rocker XL features Touch FX Technology with 4 back-lit pads. Press the FX Select button to cycle through different sound effect banks (DJ Effects, Drum Hits, Crowd Noise, Party Sounds). Press an FX Rec button to record your own sound effects.

BOOM Button

Press the BOOM button to instantly boost the bass, volume, and lighting effects for a more impactful audio experience. The party lights will pulse to the beat of the music.

ION Sound XP App Control

Download the ION Sound XP app from your device's app store to control various functions of your Block Rocker XL directly from your smartphone or tablet. This includes adjusting volume, EQ, lighting modes, and radio settings.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the speaker with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are dry before connecting any cables.

Storage

Store the Block Rocker XL in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is fully charged and recharge it every 3 months to maintain battery health.

Water Resistance

The speaker has an IPX5 water-resistant rating, meaning it can withstand splashes and light rain. It is not designed to be submerged in water. Always ensure the port covers are securely closed when exposed to moisture.

The Block Rocker XL is IPX5 water-resistant, making it suitable for poolside or beach use.

Troubleshooting

• No Power: Ensure the power cable is securely connected and plugged into a working outlet. Check if the battery needs charging.
• No Sound: Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your connected device. Ensure the correct input source (Bluetooth, AUX, Mic, Inst) is selected.
• Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Make sure the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode (flashing icon). Try unpairing and re-pairing the device. Ensure no other devices are connected to the speaker via Bluetooth. Move closer to the speaker to ensure you are within the 100 ft range.
• Distorted Audio: Reduce the volume on both the speaker and your device. Check for interference from other electronic devices.
• Microphone Not Working: Ensure the microphone is securely plugged into the MIC IN port and its volume knob is turned up.
