1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your INGCO CIDLI1232 Lithium-ion Impact Drill. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the tool to ensure proper handling and to prevent injury or damage.
2. Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions when using power tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use personal protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection when appropriate. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source, picking up or carrying the tool.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.

5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Battery

This image demonstrates how to remove the battery by pressing the lock button and shows the power adapter for charging.
- Press the battery lock button and gently slide the battery out of the drill handle.
- Connect the charger to a power outlet.
- Insert the battery into the charger. Ensure proper alignment.
- Allow the battery to charge completely. The charger indicator light will typically change color or turn off when charging is complete.
- Once charged, remove the battery from the charger and disconnect the charger from the power outlet.
5.2 Installing/Removing Drill Bits
- Ensure the drill is off and the battery is removed for safety.
- Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
- Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck, ensuring it is seated firmly.
- Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Hand-tighten only; do not use tools to tighten the chuck.
- To remove a bit, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws open sufficiently.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off and Variable Speed
The drill is activated by pressing the trigger switch. The speed is variable depending on how far the trigger is pressed. Releasing the trigger switch turns the drill off.
6.2 Adjusting Torque Settings
The torque setting ring allows you to select the appropriate torque for your task. The INGCO CIDLI1232 features 18+1+1 torque settings, providing 20 Nm of high torque.
- Rotate the torque setting ring to align the desired number with the indicator mark.
- Lower numbers are for driving small screws or working with soft materials.
- Higher numbers are for driving larger screws or working with harder materials.
- The drill icon setting is for drilling applications, providing maximum torque without clutch engagement.
- The hammer icon setting is for impact drilling into masonry.
6.3 Selecting Gear Speed
The drill has two mechanical speed gears:
- Gear 1 (Low Speed): Provides higher torque, suitable for driving screws and drilling larger holes in tough materials.
- Gear 2 (High Speed): Provides faster rotation, ideal for drilling smaller holes in wood or metal.
To change gears, slide the gear selector switch located on top of the drill. Ensure the drill is stopped before changing gears to prevent damage.
6.4 Forward/Reverse Operation

This image highlights the integrated LED light for illuminating the work area and the reversible drill function.
The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (drilling/driving) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws or backing out bits). When the switch is in the center position, the trigger is locked, preventing accidental startup.
6.5 LED Work Light
The integrated LED light automatically activates when the trigger switch is pressed, illuminating the work surface for better visibility in dimly lit areas.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your tool.
- Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clear and free of dust. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the tool casing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods.
- Storage: When not in use, store the drill and its accessories in the provided plastic box, in a dry, secure location out of reach of children.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your drill, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
- Drill does not start:
- Check if the battery is fully charged and properly inserted.
- Ensure the forward/reverse switch is not in the center (locked) position.
- Loss of power during operation:
- The battery may be low; recharge it.
- The torque setting might be too low for the material; increase the torque setting.
- Bit wobbles or falls out:
- Ensure the chuck is tightened securely around the bit.
- Check if the bit shank is clean and undamaged.
If problems persist, contact customer support.
