5. Setup and Installation

5.2. App Download and WiFi Connection

To control and view your camera, you need to download the companion app and connect the camera to your WiFi network.

  1. Download the App: Search for "YI Iot" in the Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS), or scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or on the camera itself to download the app. You can also visit http://www.yunyiiot.com/yunyiapp/index.html.
  2. Sign Up and Log In: Open the "YI Iot" app. Choose your correct country/region. Register for a new account using your email address and create a password. Log in to your newly created account.
  3. Connect to WiFi: On the main screen of the app, click the "+" icon to add a new device. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your WiFi network (supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi) and enter the password.
  4. Scan Binding Code: The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone with the QR code facing the camera lens at a distance of about 10-15cm (4-6 inches). Ensure your phone screen is bright and stable. The camera will emit a prompt sound "QR code scan is successful" after about 20 seconds, indicating a successful connection.
