The system includes a transmitter (TX) with a built-in microphone and an OLED display, a receiver (RXU) with a USB-C connector for direct connection to your device, and a portable charging case.

4. Setup Guide

  1. Charge the Devices: Ensure both the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RXU) are fully charged using the provided USB-C charging cable and the charging case. The charging case itself can be charged via its USB-C port.
  2. Power On: Open the charging case. The transmitter and receiver will automatically power on.
  3. Connect Receiver: Plug the BY-XM6 RXU receiver directly into the USB-C port of your Android smartphone, tablet, or other compatible USB-C device.
  4. Automatic Pairing: The transmitter and receiver are pre-paired from the factory. They should automatically connect within a few seconds. The status indicator on the receiver will confirm a successful connection.
  5. Attach Transmitter:
    • Built-in Microphone: Clip the transmitter to your collar or clothing, ensuring the built-in omnidirectional microphone faces the sound source.
    • External Lavalier Microphone: For discreet placement, connect the included lavalier microphone to the transmitter's MIC IN input jack. Clip the lavalier microphone to your clothing and place the transmitter on a belt or in a pocket using its belt clip.
  6. Initial Audio Check: Before recording, perform a test recording and listen back to ensure proper audio levels and clarity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Open the charging case. The devices will automatically power on. Alternatively, press and hold the Power/Mute button on the transmitter.
  • Power Off: Place the devices back into the charging case and close it. They will automatically power off. Alternatively, press and hold the Power/Mute button on the transmitter.

5.2. Mute Control

  • Mute/Unmute: Short press the Power/Mute button on the transmitter to mute or unmute the microphone. The OLED display will indicate the mute status.

5.3. Real-Time Monitoring

  • Connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphone jack on the receiver (RXU) to monitor your audio in real-time. This allows you to check sound quality and adjust levels as needed during recording.

5.4. Stereo/Mono Output Mode

  • Use the Mono/Stereo switch on the receiver (RXU) to select your desired output mode.
    • Mono Mode: Combines both audio channels into a single mono track. Useful for single-person recordings or when you want identical audio on both left and right channels.
    • Stereo Mode: Separates the audio from each transmitter into distinct left and right channels. Ideal for two-person interviews or when you need independent control over each microphone's audio in post-production.
