Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the Aqua Pro 10076-ACC2 Pressure Gauge Connector, designed specifically for the AL75 Sand Filter. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure safe and efficient operation of your pool filtration system.
Safety Information
Always observe basic safety precautions when installing and operating pool equipment. Failure to follow these instructions can result in property damage, serious injury, or death.
- Ensure all power to the pump and filter system is turned off and disconnected before beginning any installation or maintenance.
- Relieve all pressure from the filter system before opening or servicing.
- Consult a qualified pool professional if you are unsure about any part of the installation or maintenance process.
- Use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment.
Package Contents
Verify that all components are present and undamaged before proceeding with installation.

Setup and Installation
This connector is designed to allow a pressure gauge to be installed onto your Aqua Pro AL75 Sand Filter. Follow these steps carefully:
- Prepare the Filter System:
Before starting, ensure the pool pump is turned off and unplugged. Close any necessary valves to isolate the filter. Open the air relief valve on the filter and remove the drain plug to relieve all pressure and drain water from the filter tank.
- Locate the Pressure Gauge Port:
Identify the designated port on your Aqua Pro AL75 Sand Filter where the pressure gauge is to be installed. This port is typically threaded.

- Inspect the O-ring:
Ensure the O-ring is properly seated in the groove of the connector. A properly seated O-ring is crucial for a watertight seal.

- Install the Connector:
Carefully thread the Aqua Pro 10076-ACC2 connector into the pressure gauge port on the AL75 Sand Filter. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench on the hexagonal base to tighten it securely. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the connector or the filter port.

- Install the Pressure Gauge:
Once the connector is securely installed, thread your pressure gauge (sold separately) into the top opening of the 10076-ACC2 connector. Hand-tighten the gauge until snug. Do not use tools on the pressure gauge itself unless specifically instructed by the gauge manufacturer.
- Check for Leaks:
Once the pressure gauge is installed, close the filter drain plug and open any valves that were closed. Turn on the pool pump and allow the system to pressurize. Carefully inspect the connector and gauge connections for any signs of water leaks. If leaks are present, turn off the pump, relieve pressure, and re-tighten the connections as needed.
Operating Instructions
The Aqua Pro 10076-ACC2 connector itself does not require operational steps beyond its installation. Its function is to provide a secure port for your pressure gauge. The pressure gauge will then display the internal pressure of your AL75 Sand Filter.
- Normal Operating Pressure: Refer to your AL75 Sand Filter manual for the normal operating pressure range.
- Backwashing Indication: A significant increase in pressure (typically 8-10 PSI above clean filter pressure) indicates that the filter needs backwashing.
- Low Pressure: Abnormally low pressure may indicate a clogged pump basket, skimmer basket, or an issue with the pump itself.
Maintenance
The 10076-ACC2 Pressure Gauge Connector requires minimal maintenance. Regular inspection is recommended.
- Periodic Inspection: Periodically check the connector and O-ring for any signs of wear, cracks, or leaks.
- O-ring Replacement: If a leak develops around the connector, the O-ring may need to be replaced. Ensure the replacement O-ring is compatible with pool chemicals and the connector model.
- Winterization: During winterization, ensure the filter system is properly drained. The connector and gauge should be removed if there is a risk of freezing temperatures, or if recommended by your filter's manufacturer.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water leak at connector base | O-ring improperly seated or damaged; connector not tightened sufficiently. | Turn off pump, relieve pressure. Inspect O-ring for damage and proper seating. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench to tighten the connector securely (do not overtighten). Replace O-ring if damaged. |
| Water leak at pressure gauge connection | Pressure gauge not tightened sufficiently; damaged threads on gauge or connector. | Turn off pump, relieve pressure. Hand-tighten the pressure gauge into the connector. If leak persists, inspect threads for damage. |
| Pressure gauge not reading correctly | Faulty pressure gauge; air in the system. | Ensure all air is purged from the filter system. If the issue persists, the pressure gauge itself may be faulty and require replacement. The connector does not affect gauge readings directly. |
