- Control Panel: Includes Bloom, On/Off buttons.
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the coffee maker for any damage.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate clearance above the unit for the water reservoir lid to open fully.
- First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with fresh, cold water. Do not add coffee grounds. Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket. Place the carafe with its lid on the warming plate. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle. Discard the water after the cycle is complete. This cleans the internal components and removes any manufacturing residue.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew a perfect cup of coffee:
- Prepare the Filter Basket: Ensure the filter basket is clean and properly seated. Insert a standard paper filter (e.g., #4 cone filter) into the filter basket.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add your desired amount of medium-ground coffee to the paper filter. For optimal results, refer to the recommended coffee-to-water ratios (e.g., 28-36 grams for 8 cups).
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water reservoir lid and fill with fresh, cold water up to your desired cup marking. Ensure the water level does not exceed the MAX line. Close the lid securely.
- Place Carafe: Place the glass carafe with its lid securely on the warming plate beneath the filter basket. Ensure the mixing tube inside the carafe is properly aligned.
- Select Brew Mode (Optional Bloom):
- For a standard brew, simply press the ON/OFF button.
- For an enhanced flavor profile, press the BLOOM button first, then the ON/OFF button. The Bloom cycle pre-wets the coffee grounds, allowing them to de-gas and expand, which leads to a richer extraction.
- Brewing Process: The coffee maker will begin heating water to the optimal brewing temperature (195-205°F) and then dispense it over the coffee grounds. The brewing process for 8 cups typically takes approximately 6 minutes.
- Keep Warm Function: After brewing, the warming plate will automatically keep the coffee warm for 40 minutes before automatically shutting off.
- Serving: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your freshly brewed coffee.
- Power Off: If you are finished with the coffee maker before the 40-minute warming cycle ends, you can manually turn it off by pressing the ON/OFF button again.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning
- Carafe and Lid: The glass carafe and its lid are dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended) or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
- Filter Basket: Remove the used paper filter and coffee grounds. The filter basket is dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended) or can be rinsed and washed by hand.
- Water Reservoir: After each use, empty any remaining water from the reservoir. Wipe the interior with a clean, damp cloth.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)
Mineral deposits (calcium and lime) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Prepare a descaling solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water. Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee makers, following the product's instructions.
- Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
- Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Run a full brew cycle.
- After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for 15-30 minutes to allow the solution to work.
- Discard the solution from the carafe and rinse thoroughly.
- Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
