  2. Connect the USB Type-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer, game console, or smartphone (an adapter may be required for some smartphones, not included).
  3. The microphone is Plug & Play compatible. Your operating system should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.
  4. Verify the microphone is selected as the input device in your system's sound settings or your recording/streaming software.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Usage

  • Positioning: For optimal sound quality, speak directly into the front of the microphone (the side with the KRUX logo) at a distance of 6-12 inches (15-30 cm).
  • Gain Control: The KRUX Edis 1000 does not feature a physical gain knob. Adjust input levels through your computer's sound settings or your recording software.

3.2 Optimizing Audio Quality

  • Environment: Record in a quiet environment to minimize background noise.
  • Pop Filter: Always use the pop filter to prevent harsh 'P' and 'B' sounds (plosives) from distorting your audio.
  • Shock Mount: The shock mount helps isolate the microphone from vibrations and handling noise from the desk or arm.
  • Software Settings: Utilize noise reduction, equalization, and compression features available in your recording or streaming software to further enhance sound quality.

4. Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone body and arm. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping or subjecting the microphone to strong impacts, as this can damage internal components.
  • Cable Care: Do not bend or crimp the USB cable excessively. Always grasp the connector, not the cable, when plugging or unplugging.
