1. Introduction and Overview

The Veise Fingerprint Door Lock offers advanced keyless entry solutions for your home. This electronic keypad deadbolt combines biometric fingerprint recognition, passcode entry, and traditional key access for enhanced security and convenience. Designed for easy installation, it is suitable for various standard American doors.

2. Setup and Installation

The Veise Fingerprint Door Lock is designed for straightforward installation. Follow these steps for a successful setup.

2.1. Pre-Installation Checklist

• Ensure your door thickness is between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm-50mm).
• Verify the hole diameter is 2-1/8" (54mm).
• Check the backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).
• Confirm the minimal distance from the edge is 1-5/8" (41mm).
• A Phillips head screwdriver is the only tool required.

2.2. Installation Steps

1. Remove Existing Hardware: Carefully remove your current deadbolt and any associated hardware from the door.
2. Install Latch: Insert the new latch into the door edge. Ensure it is oriented correctly for your door's swing (left-handed or right-handed).
3. Install Exterior Assembly: Feed the cable and spindle through the hole in the door. Secure the exterior assembly to the door.
4. Install Mounting Plate: Attach the mounting plate to the interior side of the door, aligning it with the exterior assembly.
5. Connect Cables and Install Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly. Carefully tuck excess cable into the door. Secure the interior assembly to the mounting plate.
6. Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert 4 AA batteries (not included).
7. Perform Handing Process: After inserting batteries, the lock will automatically detect the door's handing (left or right). If it doesn't, manually rotate the thumb turn to ensure it moves freely.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Unlocking the Door

• Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock within 1 second if the fingerprint is recognized.
• Passcode Unlock: Enter your 4-6 digit passcode on the keypad, then press the '#' key.
• Key Unlock: Insert the physical key into the keyhole and turn to unlock.
• One-Time Passcode: For temporary visitors, generate a one-time passcode. This code will be automatically deleted after a single use.

3.2. Locking the Door

• Auto-Lock: The lock will automatically engage the deadbolt after a preset time (10-99 seconds) if enabled.
• One-Touch Lock: From the outside, press and hold any key on the keypad for 2 seconds to instantly lock the door.
• Manual Lock (Inside): Rotate the thumb turn on the interior assembly to lock the door.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 4 AA batteries. When the battery level is low, the lock will provide a low battery alert. Replace all four batteries simultaneously to ensure optimal performance.

• Remove the battery cover on the interior assembly.
• Remove old batteries and insert new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
• Replace the battery cover.

4.2. General Care

• Clean the lock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Do not expose the lock to excessive moisture or direct water spray, despite its water resistance.
• Regularly check the screws for tightness to ensure the lock remains securely mounted.
