2. Safety Information
- This device emits ultrasonic frequencies that are generally inaudible to humans but can be irritating to some animals. Keep out of reach of small children and pets that may be sensitive to high-frequency sounds.
- Do not attempt to open or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Ensure correct battery polarity when inserting batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
- While the device is IP54 waterproof, it is not designed for submersion in water or exposure to heavy, continuous rain or snow.
3. Package Contents
Please check the package for the following items:

Figure 2: Illustration of battery installation into the device. The device is designed for portability and can operate for 6-12 months on a single set of batteries.
- Power On:
Locate the ON/OFF switch on the device and slide it to the "ON" position. A small indicator light may illuminate briefly.
- Placement:
The device is battery-operated and portable, allowing for flexible placement. Install it in areas where birds are a nuisance, such as verandas, balconies, gardens, or eaves. Ensure the ultrasonic emitter is facing the area you wish to protect. The device can be hung using the integrated loop or placed on a flat surface.

5. Operation
Once powered on, the ISOTRONIC 70628 will begin emitting ultrasonic waves. The device operates in cycles: it will emit ultrasonic waves for 5 seconds, then pause for 25 seconds. This intermittent operation helps conserve battery life while maintaining effectiveness.
The device continuously varies the bandwidth of the ultrasonic frequency. This prevents birds from becoming accustomed to a single frequency, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
Expected Effectiveness Timeline:
- Week 1: Birds may begin to feel uncomfortable in the area.
- Week 2: Birds may start to relocate from the protected area.
- Week 3 onwards: The device helps prevent the return of birds, maintaining a bird-free environment.

6. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace all 6 AAA batteries when the device's performance diminishes or if the indicator light no longer functions. Battery life is approximately 6-12 months depending on usage and battery quality.
- Cleaning: Wipe the device periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Water Resistance: The device has an IP54 rating, meaning it is protected from dust and splashing water from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use in normal weather conditions. However, it is not designed to withstand heavy rainfall, snow, or submersion.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not turn on or emit sound. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. Device is switched off. | Check battery polarity and replace batteries if necessary. Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the "ON" position. |
| Birds are still present after installation. | Insufficient time for effectiveness. Incorrect placement. Existing nests. | Allow 2-3 weeks for the device to take full effect. Ensure the device is positioned to cover the affected area. If existing nests are present, consider removing them (if safe and legal) before installation, as this can reduce effectiveness. |
| Battery life is shorter than expected. | Low-quality batteries. Extreme temperatures. | Use high-quality alkaline AAA batteries. Avoid exposing the device to extreme hot or cold temperatures for prolonged periods. |
