2. What's Included

3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to correctly set up your HK Audio POLAR 8 PA system:

1. Placement: Position the subwoofer unit on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
2. Assemble Column: Carefully insert the column element (Mid/High unit) into the designated slot on top of the subwoofer. Ensure it is securely seated.
3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cable to the AC IN socket on the rear panel of the subwoofer. Plug the other end into a suitable power outlet.
4. Initial Power On: Before connecting any audio sources, ensure all volume controls on the mixer are set to their minimum position. Then, switch the main power button to the 'ON' position.

4. Operating Instructions

The POLAR 8 features an integrated 3-channel mixer and Bluetooth connectivity for versatile audio management.

4.1 Mixer Controls and Inputs

• Channels 1 & 2 (Mic/Line): These channels feature XLR/jack combo inputs. Use these for microphones or line-level instruments. Adjust individual channel volume using the corresponding knobs.
• Channel 3 (Instrument): This channel has a 6.3 mm (1/4") jack input, suitable for instruments like guitars or keyboards. Adjust its volume with the dedicated knob.
• Channel 4 (Aux/Bluetooth): This channel supports both auxiliary input (RCA connectors) and Bluetooth audio streaming. Adjust its volume with the dedicated knob.
• Sub Volume: Controls the output level of the subwoofer. Adjust to achieve desired bass response.
• Master Volume: Controls the overall output volume of the entire system.
• Mix Out: XLR output for sending the mixed signal to another PA system or recording device.
• DSP Display & Master Knob: The integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) allows for advanced sound shaping. Use the Master knob to navigate menus and adjust settings displayed on the screen. Push to edit.

4.2 Bluetooth Pairing (TWS)

The POLAR 8 supports Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming and True Wireless Stereo (TWS) for connecting two POLAR 8 units for a stereo setup.

1. Single Unit Pairing:
   • Activate Bluetooth on your audio device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
   • Press the 'Pairing' button on the POLAR 8's mixer panel. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
   • Select 'HK Audio POLAR 8' from your device's Bluetooth list. The indicator will turn solid blue when connected.
2. TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Pairing (for two POLAR 8 units):
   • Ensure both POLAR 8 units are powered on and not currently paired to any device.
   • On the first POLAR 8 (which will be the master unit), press and hold the 'TWS Link' button until its indicator flashes.
   • On the second POLAR 8, press the 'TWS Link' button briefly. Both units will attempt to connect.
   • Once connected, the TWS indicators on both units will turn solid. The master unit will control the stereo signal.
   • Now, pair your audio device to the master POLAR 8 unit as described in 'Single Unit Pairing'. Audio will play in stereo across both units.
