5. Setup and Installation
The Neodrain Linear Shower Drain is designed for straightforward installation. For optimal performance and to prevent water pooling, ensure the shower floor is sloped towards the drain.
5.1. Pre-Installation Considerations
- Confirm the drain size matches your shower pan requirements.
- Ensure proper waterproofing of the shower area.
- Prepare the subfloor for the drain channel.
5.2. Installation Steps
- Positioning the Drain: Place the linear drain channel in the desired location. It can be installed along the wall or in the center of the shower. For barrier-free access and efficient drainage, installation along the wall with a single slope is recommended.
- Connecting the Drain: Connect the drain channel to your plumbing system using a compatible 2-inch No-Hub coupling. The threaded adapter can be used to adjust the height and thread into most 2" ABS, PVC, and Cast Iron Flanges.
- Leveling: Use the adjustable leveling feet to support the drain channel body, ensuring it is perfectly level and at the correct height relative to your finished tile surface.
- Mortar Bed and Waterproofing: Apply a mortar bed around the drain channel, ensuring a consistent slope towards the drain. Install your waterproofing membrane over the mortar bed, integrating it with the drain flange.
- Tiling: Install your shower tiles, ensuring they are cut precisely to fit around the linear drain. For the tile insert cover, cut a piece of your shower tile to fit into the cover's recess.
- Installing the Cover: Once tiling is complete and grout has cured, place the 2-in-1 cover (either flat or with the tile insert) into the drain channel. The tile tray clips help reduce noise and prevent scratching.

6. Operating Instructions
The Neodrain Linear Shower Drain operates passively, collecting and directing water to your plumbing system. Its deep slope design ensures efficient drainage, minimizing water pooling on the shower floor.
- Ensure the drain cover is properly seated in the channel before using the shower.
- The 2-in-1 cover allows you to choose between a flat grate appearance or a tile-insert look, blending seamlessly with your shower floor.
- The integrated hair strainer effectively catches debris and hair, preventing clogs in your plumbing.
7. Maintenance
Regular cleaning of your Neodrain Linear Shower Drain is crucial to maintain optimal performance and prevent clogs. The drain is designed for easy access and cleaning.
7.1. Cleaning the Drain
- Remove the Cover: Use the provided lifting hook to carefully remove the 2-in-1 drain cover from the channel.
- Remove Hair Strainer: Lift out the hair strainer basket from the drain channel.
- Clean Components: Remove any accumulated hair and debris from the hair strainer. Rinse the strainer and the drain cover with warm water and mild soap.
- Clean Drain Channel: Use a brush or cloth to clean the inside of the drain channel, ensuring all residue is removed. The deep 'V' profile aids in self-cleaning, but occasional manual cleaning is beneficial.
- Reassemble: Place the clean hair strainer back into the drain channel, followed by the drain cover. Ensure the cover is securely seated.
