This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your YOSEC E-816L Electronic Keypad Safe Lock. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure proper functionality and security.

2. Product Overview

The YOSEC E-816L is a replacement electronic keypad lock designed for steel security safe boxes. It features a digital pin code system with indicator lights for various operations.

2.1. Key Features

  • Supports 3-8 digit user codes and a master code.
  • Three indicator lights (green, red, yellow) for status indication and low battery warnings.
  • Easy code changes via a reset button.
  • Solenoid system for opening and closing with a knob.
  • Auto-lock system activates after 3 consecutive incorrect entries, locking the safe for 30 seconds.

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery box component.
  2. Insert four (4) new AA batteries (sold separately) into the battery box. Ensure correct polarity by aligning the '+' and '-' symbols.
  3. Connect the battery box to the keypad unit.

3.2. Initial Code Programming

Upon initial power-up or after a prolonged power loss (over 30 minutes), you may need to program your user and master codes. Refer to the specific instructions provided with your safe for detailed programming steps. Generally, this involves pressing a reset button and entering your desired code.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Opening the Safe

  1. Enter your programmed user code or master code on the keypad.
  2. The green indicator light will illuminate, indicating successful code entry.
  3. Turn the knob to open the safe door.

4.2. Closing the Safe

  1. Close the safe door.
  2. Turn the knob to engage the locking mechanism. The keypad display may show "CLOSE" or a similar indication.

4.3. Changing User/Master Codes

To change your user or master codes, locate the reset button (typically inside the safe door or on the back of the keypad assembly). Press the reset button, then follow the specific instructions for your safe model to enter and confirm your new code.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Replacement

When the yellow indicator light flashes or a low battery warning is displayed, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.1. Always use four (4) new AA batteries for optimal performance.

5.2. Code Reset After Power Loss

If the safe lock experiences a power interruption for more than 30 minutes (e.g., dead batteries left unreplaced), user codes may need to be reset and reprogrammed. Refer to the initial code programming section or your safe's specific manual for details.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Safe is Locked Out

If three consecutive incorrect codes are entered, the safe's auto-lock system will activate, and the safe will be locked out for 30 seconds. Wait for the lockout period to expire before attempting to enter the code again.

6.2. Keypad Not Responding / No Power

  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed with the proper polarity.
  • Replace all four AA batteries with new ones.
  • Ensure all connections between the keypad, battery box, and solenoid are secure.

6.3. Low Battery Warning

If the yellow indicator light flashes or a low battery icon appears, replace the batteries immediately to avoid being locked out of your safe.
