Setup

Connecting the Drive

The ROOFULL RF40-SU is a plug-and-play device, requiring no additional driver installation. It features a 2-in-1 data cable with both USB 3.0 Type-A and USB-C connectors for broad compatibility.

Operating the Drive

Disc Functions

The drive supports various disc functions including reading, writing, re-writing, and burning. It is compatible with CD-ROM, CD-R, CD +/-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+/-RW, DVD-R DL, and VCD-ROM discs.

  1. Press the eject button on the front of the drive to open the disc tray.
  2. Carefully place your CD or DVD onto the tray, ensuring it is centered on the spindle.
  3. Gently push the tray back into the drive until it clicks shut.

DVD Region Code Information

DVDs are region-coded and will only play on DVD drives that use the same region country codes. CDs are not region-coded.

  • Region 1: Canada, United States
  • Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East
  • Region 3: Southeast Asia, East Asia (including Hong Kong)
  • Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America
  • Region 5: Eastern Europe, Russia, Indian Subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
  • Region 6: China
  • Region 7: Reserved for unspecified special use
  • Region 8: Air and oceanic travel

Each external optical drive allows you to change the region code approximately 4-5 times.
