1. Product Overview

The VARTA Multi Charger is designed for charging 2, 4, 6, or 8 AA or AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries. It features a USB Type-C input for convenient power supply and incorporates advanced safety technologies to ensure optimal charging results and battery longevity. The charger includes a 50cm USB Type-C charging cable.

2. Safety Instructions

• Use only NiMH rechargeable batteries. Do not attempt to charge primary (non-rechargeable) batteries, as this may lead to leakage, rupture, or explosion.
• Do not mix battery types or capacities. Charge batteries of the same type (AA or AAA) and similar capacity together.
• Ensure correct polarity. Insert batteries according to the (+) and (-) markings on the charger.
• Do not expose the charger to water or excessive moisture.
• Do not disassemble or modify the charger. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
• Operate the charger in a well-ventilated area. Avoid covering the charger during operation.
• Unplug the charger from the power source when not in use or before cleaning.

4. Setup

1. Connect the Charger: Insert the small end of the provided USB Type-C cable into the USB-C input port on the VARTA Multi Charger.
2. Connect to Power: Plug the standard USB-A end of the cable into a compatible USB power source (e.g., a USB wall adapter, computer USB port, or power bank). The charger is designed for global voltage use.
3. Insert Batteries: Insert 2, 4, 6, or 8 AA or AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries into the charging slots, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated on the charger. The charger can accommodate a mix of AA and AAA batteries simultaneously, provided they are NiMH.

5.1 Charging Process

• Once batteries are correctly inserted and the charger is connected to a power source, the green LED indicators will illuminate to show that charging is in progress.
• The charger utilizes advanced safety technology, including a safety timer and minimum delta V disconnect, to prevent overcharging and optimize battery life.
• Charging time for 4 AA 1600mAh batteries is approximately 4.5 hours. Charging times will vary depending on battery capacity and the number of batteries being charged.

5.2 LED Indicators

The VARTA Multi Charger features green LEDs to indicate the charging status:

• Solid Green LED: Indicates that the battery in the corresponding slot is currently charging.
• LED Off: Indicates that charging is complete for the battery in that slot, or no battery is present, or the battery is inserted incorrectly.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from the power source before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the charger. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the charger when storing for extended periods.
