Safety Warnings
Failure to follow these safety warnings can lead to fire, electric shock, or product damage.
- Improper use can lead to fire or electric shock.
- Do not place the heating mat on objects that can puncture it.
- Do not bury the mat in soil or cover it directly with soil or growing medium.
- Do not place heat-insulating materials over the heating mat, as this can lead to overheating.
- Do not immerse the heating mat in water.
- This heating mat is suitable for indoor use only.
- This heating mat does not contain a temperature adjustment feature. Monitor ambient temperatures and plant needs accordingly.
Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Surface: Place the heating mat on a well-drained, flat surface. Ensure there is no standing water on the surface. For optimal root zone temperatures, place the mat on an insulated surface rather than a cold floor.
- Position Plants/Terrarium: Place your seed trays, plant pots, or terrarium directly on the heating mat. Using a humidity dome over seedlings can help retain moisture and promote faster germination and rooting.
- Connect to Power: Plug the heating mat into a standard 230-volt electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions
Once plugged in, the HBN Plant Heating Mat will begin to warm up. It is designed to consistently raise the root zone temperature by 5-11 ℃ (10-20 ℉) above the ambient air temperature. There are no adjustable controls on this mat.
- For Seed Germination: Maintain consistent moisture for your seeds. The elevated temperature promotes faster germination.
- For Seedling Growth: Provide warmth to the root zone to encourage healthy and vigorous growth.
- For Terrariums: Use the mat to provide a warm spot for reptiles, amphibians, or plants requiring higher substrate temperatures. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating of the enclosure.

Maintenance
The HBN Plant Heating Mat is designed for low maintenance.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the mat from the power outlet before cleaning. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the mat in water. The surface is designed to prevent stagnant water, making cleaning simple.
- Storage: When not in use, ensure the mat is clean and dry. It can be folded for easy storage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting
- Mat is not heating:
- Ensure the mat is securely plugged into a functional 230V outlet.
- Check if the power outlet itself is working by plugging in another device.
- Inspect the power cord for any visible damage. If damaged, discontinue use and contact support.
- Mat is not warm enough:
- Ensure the mat is placed on an insulated surface, not a cold floor, to prevent heat loss.
- Verify that the ambient room temperature is not excessively low, as the mat only raises the temperature relative to the surroundings.
- Confirm no heat-insulating materials are placed directly over the mat, which could impede heat transfer to your plants.
- Mat is too hot:
- The mat does not have temperature control. If the environment is too warm, consider moving the mat to a cooler location or using it intermittently.
- Ensure no heat-insulating materials are covering the mat, which can cause heat buildup.
