4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your Wooask W12 device. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the device's charging port and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The device typically takes 1-2 hours to fully charge.

4.2 Power On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually on the side) until the screen lights up.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until a power-off menu appears, then select "Power Off".

4.3 Initial Setup & Wi-Fi Connection

Upon first power-on, you may be guided through an initial setup process. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred system language. To enable online translation features, connect the device to a Wi-Fi network:

1. From the main screen, tap on the "Settings" icon.
2. Select "Wi-Fi" or "WLAN".
3. Toggle the Wi-Fi switch to "On".
4. Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list.
5. Enter the Wi-Fi password if prompted, then tap "Connect".

You can also use your smartphone's mobile hotspot to provide internet access to the translator.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Voice Translation (Online & Offline)

The Wooask W12 supports both online and offline voice translation. For offline translation, ensure the necessary language packs are downloaded (see Section 5.4).

1. From the main screen, tap on "Voice Translation".
2. Select the source language (your language) and the target language (the language you want to translate to).
3. Press and hold the corresponding "A" or "B" button on the device, speak clearly into the microphone, and release the button when finished.
4. The translated text will appear on the screen and be spoken aloud in the target language.

5.2 Photo Translation

Translate text from images, such as menus or signs.

1. From the main screen, tap on "Photo Translation".
2. Align the text you wish to translate within the camera frame.
3. Tap the camera icon to capture the image.
4. The device will process the image and display the translated text.

5.3 Sound Recording

Record audio for later playback or translation.

1. From the main screen, tap on "Sound Recording".
2. Tap the microphone icon to start recording.
3. Tap the icon again to stop recording.
4. Recordings are saved and can be accessed from the recording list.

5.4 Offline Language Download

To use the device without an internet connection, download the necessary language packs:

1. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
2. From the main screen, tap on "Offline Translation" or navigate to "Settings" > "Offline Download".
3. Select the languages you wish to download by tapping the download icon next to them.
4. Wait for the download to complete. Once downloaded, these languages can be used for translation without an internet connection.

5.5 Voice Broadcast Settings

Customize the voice output for translations:

1. From the main screen, tap on "Settings".
2. Select "Voice Broadcast" or "Voice Broadcast Switch".
3. Choose between male or female voice options for the translated output. Note that a few languages may not support both voice options.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

• To maximize battery lifespan, avoid fully discharging the device frequently.
• Charge the device using the provided Type-C cable and a compatible power source.
• If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to about 50% before storage.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.3 Software Updates

Periodically check for software updates in the device's settings menu to ensure optimal performance and access to new features or language improvements. Updates can enhance accuracy and add new functionalities.

Common Issues

• Device not turning on/Unauthorized Contact Support: If you encounter an "Unauthorized Contact Support" message or the device fails to power on, try restarting the device. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
• Inaccurate Translations: Ensure you have a stable internet connection for online translation. For offline translation, verify that the language packs are fully downloaded. Speak clearly and at a moderate pace.
• Poor Battery Performance: If the battery drains quickly, ensure the device is fully charged. Avoid leaving the device on standby for extended periods if not in use, or power it off completely.
• Buttons Unresponsive: If physical buttons are unresponsive or stuck, gently press them to ensure they are not jammed. If the issue continues, contact support.
