2. Setup
2.1 Initial Charging
Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, ensure it is fully charged.
- Expose the watch dial to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal, but artificial light also works).
- For a full charge, expose the watch to direct sunlight for approximately 11 hours, or to a fluorescent lamp (30W, 20cm distance) for about 50 hours.
- The second hand will move in two-second intervals when the power reserve is low, indicating a need for charging.
2.2 Setting Time and Date
To set the time and date on your watch:
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM setting is correct for the 12/24 hour display.
- Push the crown back to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown to set the date.
- Push the crown back to the normal position.
2.3 Bracelet Adjustment
The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. It is recommended to have this adjustment performed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Basic Timekeeping
Once set, the watch will maintain accurate time as long as it receives sufficient light exposure to keep the Eco-Drive power cell charged.
3.2 Using the Chronograph
The chronograph function allows for precise timing of events up to 60 minutes in 1-second increments.
- Press the upper pusher to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin moving.
- Press the upper pusher again to stop the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will stop, indicating the elapsed time.
- Press the lower pusher to reset the chronograph. The chronograph hands will return to their zero positions.
3.3 12/24 Hour Time Display
The watch features a sub-dial that displays time in a 24-hour format, useful for distinguishing between AM and PM when setting the main time.
3.4 Date Function
The date is displayed in a window on the dial. Adjust the date manually at the end of months with fewer than 31 days.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Charging Your Eco-Drive Watch
To ensure continuous operation, regularly expose your watch to light. Avoid storing the watch in dark places for extended periods. If the watch is stored in darkness, it may enter a power-saving mode or stop completely. A full charge can last up to 6 months in darkness.
4.2 Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the metal bracelet, a soft brush and mild soapy water can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying. Ensure the crown is pushed in before cleaning with water.
4.3 Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for scuba diving. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
4.4 Sapphire Crystal
The sapphire crystal is highly scratch-resistant. However, it is not entirely scratch-proof and can be damaged by extreme impact or certain materials. Handle with care.
