Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your AUKEPO Car Dash Cam:

  1. Mount the Mirror Camera: Securely attach the rearview mirror dash camera over your existing rearview mirror using the provided snap mounts. Ensure it is centered and does not obstruct your view.

  3. Connect Power: Continue routing the power cable under the dashboard and connect it to your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket using the USB car power cable.
  4. Install Rear Camera: Mount the rear camera at the back of your vehicle, typically above the license plate or inside the rear window. Ensure it has a clear view.
  5. Route Rear Camera Cable: Connect the 23FT rear camera cable to the rear camera and route it neatly along the vehicle's interior trim to the main rearview mirror unit.
  6. Connect Rear Camera to Main Unit: Plug the rear camera cable into the designated port on the rearview mirror dash camera.
  7. Insert Micro-SD Card: Insert a compatible micro-SD card (not included) into the designated slot on the main unit. Ensure the card is formatted before first use.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • The device will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on.
  • To manually power off, press and hold the power button located on the bottom of the mirror unit.

Menu Navigation

  • Use the buttons located on the bottom of the mirror to navigate through the menu options.
  • Typically, there are buttons for Menu, Up, Down, OK/Confirm, and Mode.
  • Press the "Menu" button to access settings such as resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, and date/time.

Recording Modes

  • Loop Recording: Videos are recorded in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
  • Parking Monitoring: When enabled (requires hardwire kit for 24/7 power), the camera will automatically start recording if it detects vibration or motion while the vehicle is parked.

Playback

  • To view recorded videos, stop recording (if active) and enter playback mode via the menu.
  • Navigate through the video files using the Up/Down buttons and press OK to play.
  • Files are typically categorized by front/rear camera and normal/locked recordings.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • SD Card Management:
    • Regularly format your micro-SD card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
    • Use a high-quality, high-speed (Class 10 or higher) micro-SD card from a reputable brand.
    • Replace the micro-SD card if you notice frequent errors or recording issues.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates to improve performance or add new features.

Troubleshooting
