Setup

Unpacking and Initial Charge

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present before beginning assembly. The Dyson V7 Advanced comes with a Lithium-Ion battery (included). Fully charge the battery before first use. A full charge takes approximately 5 hours and provides up to 40 minutes of run time.

Assembly

  1. Attach the Wand: Align the long wand with the main body of the vacuum and push until it clicks securely into place.
  2. Attach the Cleaner Head: Connect the desired cleaner head (e.g., Motorbar cleaner head) to the end of the wand, ensuring it clicks firmly.
  3. Install Wall Dock (Optional): The vacuum can be stored and charged on a wall-mounted dock. Select a suitable location near a power outlet. Secure the wall dock to the wall using appropriate fasteners (not always included, check packaging).
  4. Connect Charger: Plug the charger into the wall outlet and connect it to the charging port on the vacuum or the wall dock.

Attaching Accessories

The Dyson V7 Advanced comes with various attachments for different cleaning needs. To attach an accessory, align it with the main body or the end of the wand and push until it clicks. To remove, press the release button and pull the accessory away.

  • Combination Tool: Features a wide nozzle and brush for switching between cleaning tasks.
  • Crevice Tool: Designed for precise cleaning around edges and narrow gaps.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

To operate the vacuum, simply pull and hold the power trigger. The vacuum will run as long as the trigger is held. Release the trigger to turn off the vacuum.

Suction Modes

The Dyson V7 Advanced offers two suction modes:

  • Powerful Suction Mode: Standard mode for everyday cleaning, offering extended run time.
  • Max Suction Mode: Provides maximum suction for more demanding tasks and ground-in dirt. This mode will reduce the overall run time. To activate, locate the slider switch on the top of the main body and slide it to the "Max" position. Slide it back for Powerful Suction Mode.

Cleaning Surfaces

The direct-drive cleaner head is suitable for both carpets and hard floors, automatically adjusting to the surface. For delicate surfaces or tight spaces, use the appropriate attachments.

Maintenance

Emptying the Bin

To empty the bin, hold the vacuum over a trash can. Push the red lever on the top of the cyclone assembly to release the bin flap and empty the contents. Close the bin flap firmly until it clicks.

Washing the Filter

The Dyson V7 Advanced features a washable filter. For optimal performance, wash the filter at least once a month, or more frequently if used heavily. To access the filter, twist the blue filter cap on the top of the main body counter-clockwise and pull it out.

  1. Rinse the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  2. Squeeze and twist the filter to remove excess water.
  3. Leave the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm, dry place. Do not use a tumble dryer, microwave, or open flame to dry.
  4. Once completely dry, reinsert the filter into the main body and twist clockwise to secure.

Cleaning the Cleaner Head

Periodically check the cleaner head for blockages or tangled hair. Remove any debris to maintain effective suction and prevent damage to the brush bar.
