1. Introduction

The BAITAI HCF-712 Internal Aquarium Filter is designed to provide a clean and healthy aquatic environment for your fish. This versatile device combines five essential functions: filtration, UV sterilization, oxygenation, water circulation, and a waterfall effect. It is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums ranging from 30 to 200 liters.

3. Safety Instructions

To prevent injury or damage, always follow these safety precautions:

• Ensure the filter is fully submerged in water before connecting to power. Never run the filter dry.
• Before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or installation, always unplug the filter from the power outlet.
• Verify that your power supply matches the filter's requirements (AC 220-240V 50/60Hz).
• Important: Some units may be shipped with a non-European plug. Please check the plug type upon receipt and use an appropriate, certified adapter if necessary for your region.
• Do not operate the filter if the power cord or plug is damaged.

5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your BAITAI HCF-712 filter:

1. Assemble the Filter: Attach the spray bar and air hose to the filter unit as shown in the diagrams. Ensure all connections are secure.
2. Positioning: Place the filter inside your aquarium. The filter must be fully submerged in water. Ensure the water level is above the minimum indicated line on the filter.
3. Secure Mounting: Use the provided suction cups to firmly attach the filter to the inner glass wall of your aquarium. You can mount it vertically or horizontally, depending on your tank setup and desired water flow direction.
4. Tank Size Compatibility: This filter is suitable for aquariums with a volume of 30 to 200 liters. Ensure your tank's longest side is greater than 30 cm for optimal performance and fit.
5. Connect Air Hose (Optional): If you wish to utilize the oxygenation feature, connect the air hose to the aeration regulator and position the other end outside the water.
6. Power Connection: Once the filter is securely installed and fully submerged, connect the power plug to a suitable electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, operating your filter is straightforward:

• Initial Operation: For the first use, allow the filter to run continuously for several days until the water becomes completely clear. This allows the filtration media and UV sterilizer to effectively clean the water.
• Daily Use: After the water is clear, you can operate the filter for a few hours each day to maintain optimal water quality. The exact duration may vary depending on your aquarium's bioload and specific needs.
• Adjusting Water Flow: Rotate the aeration regulator to adjust the water flow rate according to your aquarium's requirements and the comfort of your aquatic inhabitants.
• UV Sterilizer: The UV sterilizer operates automatically when the filter is powered on. Its purpose is to control algae, bacteria, and other microorganisms.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your filter. The filter is designed for easy disassembly and cleaning without tools.

1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the filter from the power outlet before beginning any maintenance.
2. Remove from Aquarium: Carefully remove the filter unit from the aquarium.
3. Disassemble: Gently twist and pull apart the filter sections to access the internal components, including the filter sponge and UV lamp compartment.
4. Clean Filter Sponge: Remove the biochemical cotton filter sponge. Rinse it thoroughly with old aquarium water (not tap water, as chlorine can kill beneficial bacteria) to remove trapped debris. Replace the sponge if it is heavily soiled or damaged.
5. Clean UV Lamp Compartment: Carefully clean the quartz sleeve surrounding the UV lamp. Do not touch the UV lamp directly with bare hands, as oils can reduce its effectiveness. If the UV lamp needs replacement, refer to the specifications for the correct type.
6. Clean Impeller: Access the impeller chamber and clean the impeller and its shaft. Remove any debris or mineral buildup that might impede its rotation.
7. Reassemble: Put all components back together in reverse order, ensuring all seals are properly seated.
8. Reinstall: Place the cleaned filter back into the aquarium and reconnect power.
