Safety Instructions
- Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or installation.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water during operation to prevent overheating.
- Do not operate the pump with a damaged power cord or plug.
- This pump is designed for water use only. Do not use with flammable liquids.
- Keep children and pets away from the pump and electrical connections.
- Ensure the electrical outlet is properly grounded and protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).
Setup Instructions
- Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
- Assemble Fountain Pole:
Attach the fountain pole to the pump unit. The pole's height is adjustable. Secure it firmly.

- Select Fountain Nozzle:
Choose one of the two provided fountain nozzles (Style 1 or Style 2) and attach it to the top of the fountain pole. Ensure it is securely fastened.

Image: Illustration of two distinct fountain nozzles and the water patterns they produce, labeled Style 1 and Style 2.
- Position the Pump: Place the pump in the desired location within your pond, aquarium, or water feature. Ensure it rests on a stable, level surface and is fully submerged. Avoid placing it directly on the bottom if it's muddy or sandy to prevent clogging.
- Connect Auxiliary Hosing (Optional): If using the auxiliary water outlet for a waterfall or other feature, connect appropriate hosing to the outlet connector. Use the flow switch to adjust the water distribution between the fountain and the auxiliary outlet.
- Electrical Connection: Route the power cord safely to a grounded 110V/60Hz electrical outlet protected by a GFCI. Do not plug in the pump yet.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Once the pump is fully submerged and all connections are secure, plug the power cord into the GFCI-protected outlet. The pump will start operating immediately.
- Adjust Fountain Flow: Use the adjustable flow switch located on the pump unit to control the water flow to the fountain head. Turn the switch to increase or decrease the fountain's intensity.
- Adjust Auxiliary Flow: If an auxiliary hose is connected, the flow switch also allows you to divert water between the fountain and the auxiliary outlet.
- UV Lamp Operation: The integrated 13W UV lamp will activate when the pump is powered on. The visible lid on top of the unit allows you to observe if the UV lamp is working.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your TRUPOW pump.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before any maintenance.
- Clean Filter Sponges:
The thick filter sponges should be cleaned regularly, especially if you notice reduced flow or water clarity. Open the pump housing (refer to the product components diagram) and remove the sponges. Rinse them thoroughly with clean water. Do not use soap or detergents.
- Inspect and Clean Impeller/Ceramic Shaft:
Periodically inspect the impeller and ceramic shaft for debris buildup (e.g., algae, small stones). Remove any obstructions. The ceramic shaft is anti-corrosion and easy to clean.

- UV Lamp Replacement: The 13W UV lamp has a limited lifespan and will need replacement over time. When the UV lamp indicator (visible through the lid) no longer illuminates, it's time to replace it. Follow manufacturer guidelines for safe replacement.
- Winterization (for outdoor use): In freezing temperatures, remove the pump from the water, clean it thoroughly, and store it in a frost-free location.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply; clogged impeller; damaged motor. | Check power connection and GFCI. Disconnect power, clean impeller. If still not working, contact support. |
| Reduced water flow or weak fountain. | Clogged filter sponges; blocked impeller; low water level; flow switch setting. | Clean filter sponges. Disconnect power, clean impeller. Ensure pump is fully submerged. Adjust flow switch. |
| UV lamp not illuminating. | UV lamp has reached end of life; faulty connection. | Replace UV lamp. Check internal connections (with power disconnected). |
| Water remains cloudy. | Filter media saturated; insufficient filtration time; excessive organic load; UV lamp ineffective. | Clean or replace filter media. Ensure pump runs continuously. Reduce feeding or remove excess debris. Replace UV lamp if needed. |
