4. Setup Instructions
- Mounting: Choose a dry, well-ventilated location for mounting the controller, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure adequate space around the unit for heat dissipation.
- Connect Battery: Connect the battery to the output terminals of the controller, labeled 'BAT'. Ensure correct polarity: red wire to positive (+), black wire to negative (-). It is highly recommended to install an inline fuse on the positive battery cable for protection.
- Connect Solar Panel: Connect the solar panel to the input terminals of the controller, labeled 'SOLAR'. Ensure correct polarity: red wire to positive (+), black wire to negative (-).
- Verify Connections: Double-check all wiring connections for tightness and correct polarity before applying power. Loose connections can cause overheating or damage.
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, the controller will power on. The digital display will activate, and the 'SOLAR' and 'BAT' indicator lights will illuminate as appropriate.
Important: Always connect the battery to the controller first, then the solar panel. Disconnect in the reverse order: solar panel first, then battery.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display Information
The 4-digit digital display provides real-time operational data:
- Battery Board Voltage: Displays the voltage from the solar panel.
- Charging Current: Shows the current flowing into the battery.
- Battery Voltage: Indicates the current voltage of the connected battery.
Indicator Lights:
- SOLAR (Red LED): Illuminates when the solar panel is active and providing input.
- BAT (Green LED): Illuminates when the battery is connected and charging.
5.2 Parameter Adjustment
The 'SET' button allows for cycling through display modes and adjusting charging parameters:
- Cycle Display Modes: Short press the 'SET' button to cycle through the displayed parameters (e.g., solar panel voltage, charging current, battery voltage).
- Enter Adjustment Mode: Long press the 'SET' button for a few seconds to enter parameter adjustment mode. The currently adjustable parameter will blink.
- Adjust Values: While in adjustment mode, short press 'SET' to change the value of the blinking parameter. The controller supports battery voltages of 24V, 36V, 48V, 60V, and 72V.
- Save Settings: After adjusting, long press 'SET' again to save the new settings and exit adjustment mode. If no action is taken, the controller may automatically save and exit after a few seconds.
The controller can automatically detect and adjust to the connected battery voltage, but manual adjustment is available for specific requirements.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the controller's exterior clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
- Connection Check: Periodically inspect all wiring connections (solar panel to controller, controller to battery) to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion.
