5. Setup and First Use

Before using your espresso machine for the first time, follow these steps:

  2. Clean Components: Wash the removable water reservoir, milk reservoir, portafilter, and filter baskets with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

  4. Fill Water Reservoir: Fill the 1.8-liter water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Place it back securely on the machine.
  5. Initial Rinse Cycle: Before brewing coffee, perform an initial rinse cycle to prime the pump and clean internal components. Follow the 'Clean' function instructions in the operating section.

6. Operating Instructions

The Chefman Espresso Machine offers one-touch operation for various coffee beverages.

6.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled.
  2. Select the desired filter basket (single or double) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. Use the measuring scoop/tamper to level and gently tamp the grounds.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the brew head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until locked.
  5. Place a cup under the portafilter spout.
  6. Press the 'Espresso Single' or 'Espresso Double' button on the control panel. The machine will preheat, brew, and stop automatically.

6.2 Frothing Milk and Making Lattes/Cappuccinos

  1. Fill the milk reservoir with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to the desired level.
  2. Ensure the froth dispenser nozzle is positioned over your cup.
  3. Press the 'Froth' button for frothed milk only, or 'Cappuccino Single/Double' or 'Latte Single/Double' for combined brewing and frothing.
  4. The machine will automatically froth the milk and/or brew the coffee according to your selection.
