3. Setup
3.1 Installation Considerations

3.2 Wiring Diagram

3.3 Initial Power-On
- After installation, reconnect the vehicle's battery.
- Press the SRC button to turn on the receiver.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Controls
Familiarize yourself with the front panel controls for easy operation.

- SRC (Source) Button: Turns the unit on/off and cycles through audio sources (CD, USB, Bluetooth, HD Radio, SiriusXM, AUX).
- Volume Knob: Rotates to adjust volume. Press to access audio settings.
- Band/Disp Button: Changes radio band (FM1, FM2, FM3, AM, HD Radio) or display information.
- Voice Button: Activates Alexa or other voice assistant functions.
- Preset Buttons (1-6): Store and recall radio stations or SiriusXM channels.
4.2 Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- On the KDC-BT782HD, press the SRC button to select the Bluetooth audio source.
- Access the Bluetooth menu on the receiver (usually by pressing the volume knob and navigating).
- Select 'Pairing' or 'Device Search'.
- On your mobile device, search for Bluetooth devices and select 'KDC-BT782HD'.
- Confirm the pairing code if prompted.
4.3 HD Radio Operation
When listening to an FM or AM station, the receiver will automatically tune to the HD Radio broadcast if available. The 'HD' indicator will illuminate on the display. You can access additional HD2/HD3 sub-channels by pressing the seek buttons.
4.4 SiriusXM Operation
With the included SXV300V1 tuner connected, select 'SiriusXM' as the source. To activate your SiriusXM subscription, tune to Channel 184 (Preview Channel) and follow the on-screen instructions or visit siriusxm.com/activate.
4.5 Alexa Built-in
Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth and ensure the KENWOOD Remote App is installed and configured. Press the Voice button on the receiver to activate Alexa. Speak commands clearly into the microphone.
4.6 Spotify and Pandora
Connect your iPhone or Android phone via Bluetooth or USB. Select the Spotify or Pandora source on the receiver. The receiver will control the app on your phone, allowing you to browse and play music directly from the head unit.
4.7 USB Playback
Insert a USB storage device into the front USB port. The receiver will automatically switch to the USB source and begin playback. Use the seek/track buttons to navigate through files and folders.
4.8 CD Playback
Insert a CD into the disc slot. The receiver will automatically switch to the CD source and begin playback. Use the seek/track buttons to navigate tracks.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the front panel with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or alcohol, as these can damage the finish.
5.2 Fuse Replacement
If the unit does not power on, check the vehicle's fuse box and the fuse located on the rear of the receiver. Replace blown fuses with a new fuse of the same amperage rating. Refer to the installation guide for fuse location and rating.
