Setup
1. Inserting the SIM Card
- Locate the SIM card tray on the bottom edge of the phone.
- Insert the SIM ejector tool into the small hole next to the tray and push gently until the tray pops out.
- Place your Nano-SIM card(s) into the tray with the gold contacts facing down. Ensure proper orientation as indicated on the tray.
- Carefully push the tray back into the slot until it is flush with the phone's edge.
2. Initial Charge and Power On
- Connect the USB-C cable to the phone's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible power adapter (sold separately).
- Allow the phone to charge for at least 15 minutes before initial use.
- Press and hold the Power button on the right side of the phone until the Nothing logo appears on the screen.
3. First-Time Setup Wizard
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, which includes:
- Selecting your language and region.
- Connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
- Signing in with your Google account or creating a new one.
- Setting up screen lock (PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, face unlock).
- Transferring data from an old device (optional).
Operating Instructions
Basic Navigation
- Home Screen: Swipe up from the bottom to access the app drawer. Swipe left/right to navigate between home screens.
- Notifications & Quick Settings: Swipe down from the top of the screen to view notifications. Swipe down again to access quick settings toggles.
- Recent Apps: Swipe up from the bottom and hold to view recently opened applications.
- Back: Swipe from the left or right edge of the screen towards the center.
Using the Glyph Interface
The Glyph Interface provides a new way to interact with your phone through customizable light patterns. You can configure Glyph patterns for:
- Incoming calls (assign unique patterns to contacts).
- App notifications.
- Charging status.
- Reverse wireless charging indication.
To customize Glyph settings, navigate to Settings > Glyph Interface.

Camera Usage
Open the Camera app from your home screen or app drawer. The Nothing Phone (1) features a dual-camera system on the rear and a single front camera.
