Setup and Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your daybed. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.

Step 1: Assemble the Main Daybed Frame

Begin by connecting the side rails to the headboard and footboard of the main daybed. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until all major components are in place.

Step 2: Install the Slat Support System

Place the wooden slats across the support beams of the main daybed frame. Secure them according to the instructions provided in your parts manual. These slats provide direct support for your mattress, eliminating the need for a box spring.

Step 3: Assemble the Trundle Bed Frame

Assemble the trundle bed frame separately. This typically involves connecting the side panels and installing the wooden slats. The trundle frame is designed with wheels for easy movement.

Step 4: Integrate the Trundle Bed

Once assembled, slide the trundle bed frame underneath the main daybed. Ensure it slides smoothly and is properly aligned.

Operating Instructions

Using the Trundle Bed

To extend the trundle bed, gently pull the front panel of the trundle outwards from underneath the main daybed. The wheels will allow it to roll out smoothly. To retract, push the trundle back into its stored position until it is fully under the main daybed.

Note: If the trundle feels stiff, ensure there are no obstructions underneath and that the wheels are clean.

Daybed Functionality

The SOFTSEA Twin Daybed with Trundle can serve multiple functions:

  • As a Sofa: Position against a wall and use pillows to create a comfortable seating area.
  • As a Single Bed: Use the main daybed for a single sleeper.
  • As Two Twin Beds: Pull out the trundle bed to accommodate a second sleeper.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: For upholstered parts, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals. For the wood slats, wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Hardware: Periodically check all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight. Retighten as necessary to maintain stability.
  • Movement: When moving the daybed, lift it rather than dragging to prevent damage to the frame and flooring.
