4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.

4.1 Cleaning and Storage

  • After each use, especially when pumping water with potential impurities, clean the pump.
  • Use the dedicated drain ports to completely empty any remaining water from the pump. This prevents stagnation and potential damage from freezing in cold weather.
  • Periodically check and clean the internal filter to prevent clogs and maintain efficient suction. The filter is designed to prevent impurities larger than 0.04" from entering the pump.
  • Store the pump in a dry, protected area when not in use.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Suction or Low Pressure:
    • Ensure the pump is properly primed with sufficient water before starting.
    • Check all hose connections for tightness. Loose connections can lead to air leaks and loss of suction.
    • Inspect the intake filter for clogs from algae, bugs, or other debris. Clean as necessary.
    • Verify that the maximum suction height of 26 ft is not exceeded.
  • Pump Not Starting:
    • Check the power connection and ensure the outlet is functional.
    • Look for any warning lights on the back of the pump, which may indicate an issue (e.g., overheating).
  • Pump Overheating:
    • Ensure the pump is not running dry. The pump is cooled by the water it processes.
    • Check for blockages in the intake or discharge lines.
