4. Setup and Installation

The S16Pro comes with an adjustable arm mounting kit for easy installation on various aquarium types.

4.1 Arm Kit Assembly

  1. Attach the light fixture to the horizontal arm of the mounting kit. The fixture can be mounted along the length or width side.
  2. Secure the vertical arm to your aquarium. The kit supports rimless, horizontal, and rimmed tank edges. Ensure a stable and secure fit.
  3. Adjust the height of the light fixture. The arm is scalable from 2-16 cm and offers an adjustable height range of 19-34 cm from the tank edge.
  4. Once positioned, tighten all screws to prevent movement.

Diagrams also depict how the mount attaches to rimless, horizontal, and rimmed aquarium edges.

4.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power supply to the light fixture.
  2. Plug the power supply into a suitable electrical outlet.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure and dry.

5. Operation

The PopBloom S16Pro is controlled using the included remote control.

5.1 Remote Control Functions

The remote allows for easy adjustment of brightness, color channels, and programming of the 24-hour cycle.

  • Power Button: Turns the light on or off.
  • Preset Brightness: Buttons for 'Full' (100% brightness), 'ECON' (Economy/lower brightness), and 'Moon' (moonlight mode).
  • Running Time: Buttons for 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 24 hours to set the duration of the light cycle.
  • Channel Control (Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, Ch4): Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the brightness (0-100%) of each individual channel.

5.2 Programming the 24-Hour Cycle

The light can be programmed to run a 24-hour cycle simulating natural light conditions. There are three main types of settings:

Below, three diagrams illustrate how to program the 24-hour cycle for Sun Setting, Moon Setting, and OFF Setting, showing the sequence of button presses and the resulting light schedule.

Type 1: Sun Setting (Day-Moon Cycle)

This setting simulates a full day cycle including sunrise, daylight, sunset, and moonlight.

  1. At the desired time for sunrise (e.g., 8:00 AM), press the ON TIME button.
  2. Press the Full or ECON button to set the daylight brightness.
  3. Press the desired running time button (e.g., 10 for 10 hours of daylight). The light will automatically transition through sunrise, daylight, sunset, and then to moonlight until the next cycle.

Type 2: Moon Setting (Moonlight Only Cycle)

This setting initiates a moonlight cycle for a specified duration.

  1. At the desired time for moonlight to start (e.g., 7:00 PM), press the ON TIME button.
  2. Press the Moon button.
  3. Press the desired running time button (e.g., 12 for 12 hours of moonlight).

Type 3: OFF Setting (Day-No Night Light Cycle)

This setting provides a daylight cycle followed by a period of no light.

  1. At the desired time for sunrise (e.g., 8:00 AM), press the ON TIME button.
  2. Press the Full or ECON button to set the daylight brightness.
  3. Press the OFF TIME button.
  4. Press the desired running time button (e.g., 14 for 14 hours of off-time after the daylight cycle).

Note: To ensure the timer functions correctly, initiate the programming at the exact time you wish the cycle to begin.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your PopBloom S16Pro LED Reef Light.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the light fixture and lenses with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, salt creep, and water spots. Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Fan Check: Ensure the cooling fan is free from obstructions and operating quietly. Clean any dust accumulation on the fan blades or vents using a soft brush or compressed air.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly check the power cord and connections for any signs of damage, fraying, or corrosion. Replace damaged components immediately.
  • Environment: Maintain a dry environment around the light fixture and power supply. Avoid splashing water onto the unit.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your PopBloom S16Pro, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on.No power, loose connection, faulty power supply.Check power outlet, ensure all cables are securely connected. Test with another outlet if possible. If issues persist, contact support.
Remote control is unresponsive.Low battery, remote too far, obstruction, infrared sensor blocked.Replace remote battery. Ensure you are within a few feet of the light and pointing directly at the sensor. Clear any obstructions.
24-hour cycle not working as expected.Incorrect programming, manual adjustment overriding cycle.Re-program the 24-hour cycle carefully, ensuring the start time is set correctly. Avoid manual brightness adjustments after programming, as this may disable the timer.
Light flickers or dims unexpectedly.Unstable power, loose connection, internal fault.Check power connections. Ensure the power supply is stable. If flickering continues, discontinue use and contact support.
Fan is noisy or not spinning.Dust accumulation, fan obstruction, fan failure.Unplug the light and carefully clean the fan and vents. If the fan remains noisy or does not spin, contact support.
