Setup

1. Initial Winding

Your ADDIESDIVE AD2048 watch is equipped with an automatic mechanical movement (NH35A) that is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped, it requires an initial manual wind to start. To do this:

  1. Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise until it pops out to position 1.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will build up sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it down clockwise to ensure water resistance.

2. Setting the Time and Date

To set the correct time and date:

  1. Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise until it pops out to position 1.
  2. Gently pull the crown out to position 2 (first click) to set the date. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date is displayed. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  3. Pull the crown out further to position 3 (second click) to set the time. The second hand will stop, allowing for precise time setting. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the correct time. To ensure the AM/PM is correct, advance the time until the date changes, then set the current time.
  4. Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the watch case to maintain water resistance.

Operating Your Automatic Watch

The ADDIESDIVE AD2048 features a Japanese NH35A automatic movement. This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the natural motion of your arm. When fully wound, the watch has a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop and require manual winding as described in the Setup section.

For optimal performance, wear the watch daily. If you wear multiple watches, consider using a watch winder to keep the AD2048 running when not on your wrist.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the watch case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For stainless steel parts, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.

2. Water Resistance

Your ADDIESDIVE AD2048 watch is rated for 200 meters (20 ATM) of water resistance. This makes it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and recreational diving. To ensure water resistance:

  • Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
  • Do not operate the crown or pushers (if applicable) while the watch is submerged or wet.
  • Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to saltwater or chlorinated water, then dry thoroughly.

3. Magnetic Fields

Strong magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches. Keep your watch away from strong magnets, such as those found in speakers, refrigerators, and certain electronic devices.

4. Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch has stopped: If the watch has not been worn or manually wound for over 41 hours, the power reserve may be depleted. Manually wind the watch as described in the Setup section.
  • Inaccurate timekeeping: Mechanical watches can vary in accuracy. If the watch is consistently gaining or losing significant time, ensure it has sufficient power reserve. Exposure to strong magnetic fields can also affect accuracy; try demagnetizing the watch if you suspect this is the cause. For persistent issues, contact customer support.
  • Date not changing: Ensure the time is set correctly for AM/PM. The date mechanism typically changes around midnight. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM.
