The BC 12.0 WL uses a replaceable CR 2032 button battery, which typically lasts for over two years. When the battery level is low, a low battery indicator will appear on the display. To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully open the battery compartment on the back of the computer unit.
  2. Remove the old CR 2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR 2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Securely close the battery compartment.

All total values and settings are protected during battery replacement, so you will not lose your data.

5.2 Cleaning and Care

The BC 12.0 WL is water-resistant and weatherproof. To clean the unit, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or casing. Ensure the unit is dry before storing or using it in wet conditions.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Speed/Distance Display

  • Check Magnet Alignment: Ensure the wheel magnet passes within 5mm of the speed transmitter. Adjust if necessary.
  • Check Transmitter Battery: Although the main unit battery powers the display, the transmitter also has a battery. If the issue persists, consider replacing the transmitter battery (if applicable, refer to transmitter specific instructions).
  • Re-pair Devices: In rare cases, the wireless connection might need to be re-established. Refer to the settings menu for pairing options.

6.2 Display Not Working or Faint

  • Check Main Unit Battery: Replace the CR 2032 battery if the display is faint or not showing anything.
  • Temperature Extremes: Extreme cold or heat can affect LCD performance. Allow the unit to return to moderate temperatures.

6.3 Inaccurate Readings

  • Tire Size Setting: Verify that the correct tire circumference is entered in the settings. An incorrect setting will lead to inaccurate speed and distance.
  • Interference: While designed to minimize interference, strong electromagnetic fields from other electronic devices might rarely affect wireless transmission. Move away from such sources if possible.
