1. Product Overview

The SOFTSEA Extendable Daybed (Model Y112) is a versatile wood platform bed frame designed to transition from a twin-sized bed to a king-sized bed. This daybed features a sturdy wood construction with a fence-shaped guardrail, offering both functionality and a distinctive aesthetic. It is suitable for various room settings and provides flexible sleeping arrangements.

This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your SOFTSEA Extendable Daybed.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

• Weight Capacity: The bed supports up to 275 lbs in Twin configuration and 400 lbs when extended to King size. Do not exceed these weight limits.
• Assembly: Adult assembly is required. Ensure all parts are securely fastened before use.
• Placement: Place the daybed on a flat, level surface. Avoid placing near windows where cords or blinds could pose a strangulation hazard.
• Mattress: Recommended mattress thickness is 6-8 inches. Box springs are not required.
• Children: Supervise children around the daybed, especially during extension or retraction.
• Maintenance: Regularly check all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact customer support immediately.

4. Setup and Assembly Instructions

Assembly requires two adults. Please follow the steps carefully. All necessary tools are included in the hardware pack.

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Identify each component using the parts list provided in the separate assembly guide.
2. Assemble Main Bed Frame: Attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided bolts and an Allen wrench. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until the frame is stable.
3. Install Roof Structure: Connect the roof support beams to the top of the headboard and footboard posts. Secure with the appropriate hardware.
4. Assemble Extendable Base: Construct the extendable base according to the separate assembly guide. This typically involves attaching the sliding mechanism to the main frame.
5. Install Wood Slats: Place the wood slats evenly across the bed frame and secure them using the pre-drilled holes and screws. Ensure all 15 slats are properly installed to provide adequate mattress support.
6. Final Tightening: Once the entire frame is assembled, go back and fully tighten all bolts and screws. Do not overtighten.

5. Operating Instructions: Twin to King Extension

The SOFTSEA Extendable Daybed can be easily converted from a twin size to a king size to accommodate different needs.

1. To Extend to King Size:
   • Ensure the bed is clear of any bedding or mattresses that would obstruct the extension.
   • Locate the pull-out section of the bed frame, typically positioned underneath the main twin bed frame.
   • Gently pull the extendable section outwards from the main frame. The mechanism is designed to slide smoothly.
   • Continue pulling until the extendable section is fully extended and locks into place, forming a king-sized sleeping surface.
   • Place a king-sized mattress or two twin mattresses side-by-side onto the extended frame.
2. To Retract to Twin Size:
   • Remove any additional mattresses or bedding from the extended section.
   • Unlock the extension mechanism (if applicable, refer to specific assembly guide for details on locking mechanism).
   • Gently push the extendable section back underneath the main twin bed frame until it is fully retracted.
   • Ensure the section is fully nested to maintain the twin bed configuration.

6. Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your SOFTSEA Extendable Daybed.

• Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the wood finish.
• Hardware Check: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and connections. Tighten any loose hardware to maintain stability and prevent squeaking.
• Wood Care: Protect the wood from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes to prevent warping or cracking. Use coasters or pads if placing items on the frame.
• Movement: When moving the daybed, lift it rather than dragging it to prevent damage to the frame and floor.

9. Warranty Information

The SOFTSEA Extendable Daybed (Model Y112) comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
