Setup

Battery Installation

The Femometer DET-306 thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included in the package. To install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the thermometer.
2. Slide the cover off to open the compartment.
3. Insert the 2 AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Operating Instructions

Taking a Body Temperature (Forehead Mode)

1. Power On: Press the power button (⏻) to turn on the thermometer. The display will activate and show all segments during a self-check. After the self-check, the person icon (👤) will appear on the display, indicating it's in body temperature mode.
2. Positioning: Aim the thermometer at the center of the forehead, maintaining a distance of 0.3 to 1.2 inches (approximately half the length of a ring finger) from the skin. Ensure there are no obstructions like hair or sweat.
3. Measure: Press the "START" button. The thermometer will emit a beep, and the temperature reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
4. Reading Interpretation: The backlit display will change color to indicate temperature levels:
   • Green: Normal temperature (typically T ≤ 99.1°F).
   • Orange: Slightly elevated temperature (typically 99.1°F < T < 100°F).
   • Red: Fever (typically T ≥ 100°F). A long beep followed by three short beeps will sound to warn the user of a fever.
5. Repeat Measurement: It is recommended to take a second measurement at a 3-second interval for consistency.

Taking an Object Temperature (Object Mode)

The thermometer can also measure the temperature of objects, liquids, or rooms.

1. Switch Mode: After powering on, press the mode button (house icon 🏠) to switch from body mode to object mode. The house icon will appear on the display.
2. Positioning: Aim the thermometer at the object or surface you wish to measure.
3. Measure: Press the "START" button. The temperature reading of the object will be displayed.

Switching Temperature Units (℃/℉)

To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉):

• With the thermometer powered on, press and hold the mode button (person/house icon) for a few seconds until the unit changes on the display.

Maintenance

Cleaning and Care

• Wipe clean the thermometer with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
• Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.
• Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
