Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Filter Box: Open the filter box lid. The filter box has multiple layers for different media.
- Install Filter Media:
- Place the provided filter cotton into the top hollow partition. This layer is for mechanical filtration, removing solid waste.
- Place the biological filter media (e.g., ceramic rings, bio-balls) into the bottom drawer and the third layer of the filter box. These media provide surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow, aiding in biological filtration.

- Position the Filter Box: Attach the filter box to the rim of your aquarium using the fixed buckle. Adjust the three gears to ensure the filter box is securely and appropriately positioned according to your tank's height. The fixed buckle can clamp glass with a thickness of 5-14mm.
- Connect the Pump: Place the submersible water pump inside the aquarium. Connect the pump's outlet to the inlet of the filter box using the provided tubing. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
- Power On: Once the filter box and pump are securely installed and submerged, plug in the pump. Water should begin to flow from the pump, through the filter media, and back into the aquarium, creating a waterfall effect.
Operating Instructions
The LONDAFISH Aquarium Filter Box operates continuously to maintain water quality. Once set up, the pump will draw water from the aquarium, pass it through the filter media, and return clean water to the tank. Monitor the water flow and clarity to ensure proper operation.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your filter system is crucial for a healthy aquarium environment.
- Filter Cotton Replacement:
- The filter cotton should be replaced regularly, typically every 1-2 weeks, or when it appears visibly dirty and water flow is reduced.
- To replace, unplug the pump, open the filter box lid, and slide out the drawer containing the used filter cotton. Remove the old cotton and insert a new piece.
- It is recommended to rinse the new filter cotton lightly with old aquarium water before placing it in the filter box to preserve beneficial bacteria.

- Biological Media Cleaning: Biological media should be rinsed gently in old aquarium water during water changes, only when necessary, to remove accumulated sludge without destroying beneficial bacteria. Avoid cleaning biological media with tap water, as chlorine can kill beneficial bacteria.
- Pump Cleaning: Periodically clean the submersible pump impeller and housing to ensure optimal flow and prevent blockages. Unplug the pump before cleaning.
Troubleshooting
- Reduced Water Flow: Check if the filter cotton is clogged and needs replacement. Inspect the pump impeller for blockages or debris. Ensure the pump is fully submerged.
- No Water Flow: Verify the pump is plugged in and receiving power. Check for kinks in the tubing. Ensure the pump impeller is free to rotate.
- Excessive Noise: Ensure the pump is securely placed and not vibrating against the tank. Check the impeller for any foreign objects.
- Cloudy Water: This may indicate insufficient filtration or an imbalance in the aquarium's biological cycle. Ensure filter cotton is clean/new and biological media is functioning. Perform a partial water change if necessary.
