1. Introduction

The RIG 800 PRO HX Wireless Gaming Headset is designed for an immersive audio experience across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PCs. This headset features a multi-function base station for wireless connection and convenient charging. It incorporates Dolby Atmos for precise 3D audio, a lightweight design for extended comfort, and a long-lasting battery. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your headset.

3. Setup

3.1 Headset Assembly and Adjustment

The RIG 800 PRO HX headset features a unique snap-fit design for personalized comfort. The earcups can be adjusted to three different sizes (Small, Medium, Large) by detaching and reattaching them to the headband frame. The self-adjusting head strap further enhances comfort during extended use.

3.2 Connecting to Xbox/PC

The RIG 800 PRO HX connects wirelessly to your Xbox console or PC via the included USB-A wireless transmitter. The multi-function base station provides a convenient docking and charging solution, with the USB-A adapter integrated for wireless connection. The adapter can also be removed and plugged directly into your console or PC.

  1. Connect the multi-function base station to your Xbox or PC using the USB-C charging cable.
  2. Ensure the USB-A wireless transmitter is securely inserted into the base station, or directly into an available USB-A port on your console/PC.
  3. Power on your RIG 800 PRO HX headset. It should automatically pair with the wireless transmitter.

3.3 Connecting to Mac

While the RIG 800 PRO HX is primarily designed for Xbox and Windows PCs, it can also be connected to a Mac. Ensure your Mac's operating system is up to date. The USB-A wireless transmitter can be used with a USB-A to USB-C adapter if your Mac only has USB-C ports.

  1. Plug the USB-A wireless transmitter into an available USB-A port on your Mac. If your Mac only has USB-C ports, use a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
  2. Power on your RIG 800 PRO HX headset.
  3. Navigate to your Mac's System Settings (or System Preferences) > Sound.
  4. Under the 'Output' and 'Input' tabs, select 'RIG 800 PRO HX' as your default audio device.

3.4 Mobile Device Connectivity (Bluetooth)

The RIG 800 PRO HX supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to pair it with mobile devices for audio and calls.

  1. Ensure your headset is powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth pairing mode on your headset (refer to the headset controls section for specific button presses).
  3. On your mobile device, go to Bluetooth settings and select 'RIG 800 PRO HX' from the list of available devices to pair.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Headset Controls

The RIG 800 PRO HX features intuitive on-ear controls for easy management of audio and communication:

  • Volume Control: A dedicated wheel on the earcup allows you to adjust the overall audio volume.
  • Game/Chat Audio Balance: Another control allows you to balance the volume between game audio and chat audio.
  • Mic Monitoring (Sidetone): Adjust the level of your own voice heard through the headset.
  • Power Button: Powers the headset on/off.
  • Bluetooth Button: Manages Bluetooth pairing and connection modes.

4.2 Charging the Headset

The multi-function base station provides seamless charging for your headset. The headset offers up to 60 hours of wireless audio per charge.

  1. Place the RIG 800 PRO HX headset onto the multi-function base station, ensuring the charging contacts align.
  2. The base station's indicator light will confirm charging status.
  3. A full charge typically takes approximately 4 hours.

4.3 Microphone Usage

The headset features a pro-grade flexible noise-cancelling microphone. To mute the microphone, simply flip it up. Flipping it down will unmute it.

4.4 Dolby Atmos for Headphones

The RIG 800 PRO HX includes Dolby Atmos for Headphones, providing precise 3D audio. This feature allows for enhanced spatial awareness in games, enabling faster and more accurate detection of in-game sounds and their direction.

To utilize Dolby Atmos for Headphones, ensure you have an Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or Windows 10/11 compatible device, the Dolby Access app, and a Microsoft account with login. Follow the instructions provided with your headset or within the Dolby Access app to activate this feature.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the headset and base station. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the headset on its charging base or in a safe place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Cable Care: Handle the USB-C charging cable and wireless transmitter with care to prevent damage.
  • Ear Cushions: The dual-material ear cushions are designed for comfort and breathability. Periodically check for wear and tear.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your RIG 800 PRO HX headset, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Audio/Connectivity:
    • Ensure the headset is powered on and fully charged.
    • Verify the USB wireless adapter is securely plugged into your console/PC or base station.
    • Check your device's sound settings to ensure the RIG 800 PRO HX is selected as the default audio input/output device.
    • If using Bluetooth, ensure the headset is in pairing mode and correctly paired with your mobile device.
  • Intermittent Disconnections:
    • Move the wireless transmitter closer to the headset.

  • Microphone Not Working:
