1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Simon Rack Maderclick Metal Shelf. This screwless shelving unit is designed for efficient storage in various environments such as garages, workshops, shops, or warehouses. Please read these instructions carefully before assembly and use to ensure safe and correct installation.
2. Safety Information
- Ensure all components are present and undamaged before beginning assembly.
- Assemble the shelving unit on a flat, stable surface.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 150 kg per shelf. Distribute weight evenly.
- Do not climb on the shelving unit.
- Keep children and pets away from the assembly area.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, such as gloves, during assembly to prevent cuts or pinches.
- The unit is designed to be stable once assembled and does not require anchoring to a wall under normal load conditions.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all the following components are included in your package:
- Metal uprights (4 pieces)
- Metal crossbeams (for 3 shelves, typically 4 per shelf: 2 long, 2 short)
- Wood chipboard shelves (3 pieces)
- Plastic feet (4 pieces)
- Illustrated assembly instructions
Note: A nylon hammer (not included) is recommended for correct fitting of parts during assembly.
4. Assembly Instructions
The Simon Rack Maderclick shelving unit features a screwless design for quick and easy assembly. Follow these steps:
- Prepare the Area: Clear a spacious, flat area for assembly. Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
- Attach Plastic Feet: Insert the four plastic feet onto the bottom ends of the uprights. These protect your floor from scratches.
- Assemble the Base Frame: Connect two uprights using the shortest crossbeams at the desired height for the bottom shelf. Ensure the tabs on the crossbeams align with the slots on the uprights. Use a nylon hammer to gently tap them into place for a secure fit. Repeat for the other two uprights.
- Connect the Frames: Stand the two assembled side frames upright. Connect them using the longer crossbeams for the bottom shelf. Again, ensure secure fitting with a nylon hammer. This forms the base rectangle of your shelf.
- Install Bottom Shelf: Place one wood chipboard shelf onto the assembled crossbeams for the bottom level.
- Assemble Middle and Top Shelves: Determine the desired height for your middle and top shelves. The uprights have multiple slots, allowing for adjustable shelf heights. Attach the remaining crossbeams for the middle and top shelves in the same manner as the bottom shelf.
- Install Remaining Shelves: Place the remaining wood chipboard shelves onto their respective crossbeams.
- Final Check: Once fully assembled, gently push and pull the unit to ensure all connections are secure and the shelf is stable.

5. Operation and Usage
Your Simon Rack Maderclick Metal Shelf is designed for versatile storage. Here are key operational aspects:
- Load Capacity: Each of the three shelves has a certified Flex Point load capacity of 150 kg. This means the shelf is designed to recover its original shape after the load is removed, even after significant weight.
- Weight Distribution: Always distribute items evenly across the shelf surface to prevent localized stress and ensure stability.
- Adjustable Heights: The shelves can be mounted at various heights to accommodate items of different sizes. This allows for customized storage solutions.
- Accessibility: The open design provides free access to all shelves from any side.
- Stability: The robust construction ensures the unit remains stable and does not wobble once correctly assembled.

Figure 4: Flex Point Certificate. This diagram explains the "Flex Point" feature, demonstrating how Simon Rack shelves are designed to withstand and recover from heavy loads, unlike inferior alternatives that may permanently deform.
6. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your Simon Rack Maderclick Metal Shelf, follow these simple care instructions:
- Cleaning: Wipe the metal frame and wood shelves with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder-coated finish or wood.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections to ensure they remain secure. Re-tap with a nylon hammer if any connections feel loose.
- Environment: While durable, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme moisture or direct sunlight to preserve the wood shelves and metal finish.
