4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your eppfun FJ-U204 USB KVM Switch:

1. Connect Peripherals: Plug your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, printer, external hard drive, etc.) into the four "USB OUT" ports on the KVM switch.
2. Connect Computers: Use the provided USB-A to USB-B cables to connect your two computers to the "PC1" and "PC2" input ports on the KVM switch.
3. Optional Power: If you are using high-power USB devices or experiencing unstable connections, connect a standard 5V power adapter (not included) to the Micro USB power port. Important: Do not use chargers with a higher output voltage than 5V, as this may damage the product.
4. Connect Remote (Optional): Plug the external remote switch button into its dedicated port on the KVM switch.
5. Driver Installation: Upon initial connection, your computer will automatically load the necessary USB drivers. Please allow this process to complete before attempting to switch between computers.

5. Operating Instructions

The eppfun FJ-U204 offers two methods for switching between connected computers:

5.1. Panel Button Switching

Simply press the large circular button on the top panel of the KVM switch to toggle between PC1 and PC2. The corresponding LED indicator (1 or 2) will light up to show which computer is currently active.

5.2. External Remote Switching

If you have connected the external remote switch button, you can press the button on this remote to switch between PC1 and PC2. This provides flexibility for placement of the KVM switch.

6. Troubleshooting

• Peripherals Not Responding:
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected.
  • Try switching to the other computer and then back again.
  • If using high-power devices, ensure the optional 5V power adapter is connected.
  • Disconnect all USB cables from the KVM switch, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect them to allow drivers to reload.
• Driver Loading Issues:
  • When first connecting, allow sufficient time for the computer to automatically load USB drivers. Do not switch during this process.
  • If drivers fail to load, disconnect all USB cables, wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect.
• Unstable Connection / Device Disconnections:
  • Connect a standard 5V power adapter (not included) to the Micro USB power port to provide additional power, especially for devices like external hard drives.
  • Ensure the power adapter is exactly 5V. Higher voltages can cause damage.
