5. Operating Instructions

The AFWFilters Platinum 10 system features a Fleck 2510SXT Digital Control Head for easy programming and monitoring. Proper programming ensures optimal performance and regeneration cycles.

Control Head Programming:

1. Set Time of Day: Hold down either arrow key to adjust the time. Ensure 'PM' is displayed correctly.
2. Access Master Programming: Push the extra cycle button to clear 'TD'. Then, push and hold the UP and DOWN arrow keys simultaneously until 'DF GAL' appears on the screen.
3. Valve Type (AIO/DF1B): Push the extra cycle button to advance. The valve type should be 'AIO'. If your control head does not show 'AIO', select 'DF1B'.
4. CT (Cycle Time): Advance to 'CT'. This should be 'TC'.
5. NT (Number of Tanks): Advance to 'NT'. This should be '1'.
6. DO (Draw Out): Advance to 'DO'. This should typically be '3' for factory settings. Depending on your media, you may need to adjust this to '2' or '1'.
7. RT (Regeneration Time): Advance to 'RT'. Set this to '1:00 AM' (1 AM) or a time when water usage is minimal for at least two hours.
8. Backwash Time: Advance to the backwash setting. This is typically set for '10' minutes.
9. Air Draw Time: Advance to the air draw setting. This is typically set for '60' minutes. (Note: For systems without 'AIO' setting, this will appear as 'BD' for Brine Draw, but functions as Air Draw and should still be set to '60').
10. Save Settings: Push the extra cycle button to save all programmed settings.

Automatic Backwash Cycle:
