Introduction

The Joie i-Base LX 2 is an Isofix base station designed to provide maximum safety and convenience for your child's car seat. This base is compatible with Joie i-Snug, i-Gemm, i-Level, and i-Quest infant carriers and car seats. Please read this manual carefully before installation and use to ensure correct setup and operation.

Setup: Installation Guide

1. Preparing the Base

Before installation, ensure the ISOFIX connectors are retracted and the support leg is folded. The base features adjustable ISOFIX arms and a foldable support leg for secure vehicle attachment.

2. ISOFIX Installation

1. Extend the ISOFIX connectors by pressing the release buttons (if applicable) and pulling them out.
2. Align the ISOFIX connectors with your vehicle's ISOFIX anchor points.
3. Push the base firmly against the vehicle seat back until both ISOFIX indicators turn green, confirming a secure connection.

3. Adjusting the Support Leg

1. Unfold the support leg and extend it downwards until it makes firm contact with the vehicle floor.
2. Ensure the support leg indicator also turns green, confirming correct height adjustment and stability.

4. Depth Adjustment

The i-Base LX 2 offers 7 adjustable depth levels to optimize the fit in your vehicle and provide comfortable recline for the car seat. Adjust the depth by using the designated mechanism on the base.

Operating: Using Your i-Base LX 2

Attaching a Compatible Car Seat

1. Ensure the i-Base LX 2 is correctly installed in your vehicle with all indicators showing green.
2. Place your compatible Joie car seat (i-Snug, i-Gemm, i-Level, or i-Quest) onto the base.
3. Push down firmly until you hear an audible 'click' and the car seat is securely locked into place. Verify the car seat's own indicators (if any) also show correct attachment.

Detaching a Car Seat

To remove the car seat from the base, locate the EasyRelease button (often at the front or side of the base). Press this button while lifting the car seat upwards. This one-hand operation allows for quick and easy removal.

Maintenance

Cleaning

• Wipe the plastic parts of the base with a damp cloth and mild soap.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or harsh chemicals.
• Allow the base to air dry completely before re-use.

Storage

When not in use, store the i-Base LX 2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the support leg is folded and ISOFIX connectors are retracted to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

• Installation Indicators Not Green: If any indicator remains red after installation, re-check all steps. Ensure ISOFIX connectors are fully engaged and the support leg is firmly on the floor. Apply more pressure if necessary.
• Car Seat Not Securing: Verify that the base is correctly installed. Check for any obstructions between the car seat and the base. Ensure the car seat is compatible with the i-Base LX 2.
• Base Feels Loose: Re-tighten the ISOFIX connectors by pushing the base firmly towards the vehicle seat back. Re-adjust the support leg to ensure it is stable.
