7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Preparing for Welding

  1. Clean the Surface: Ensure the plastic surface to be repaired is clean, dry, and free of grease or debris.
  2. Select Staple: Choose the appropriate hot staple type (e.g., M-shaped, V-shaped, Flat, Wave) and diameter (0.6mm or 0.8mm) based on the crack or damage type and plastic thickness.
  3. Insert Staple: Carefully insert the chosen staple into the two electrodes of the welding gun. Ensure it is seated securely.
  4. Adjust Power: Turn the "Power Adjustment Knob" to select the desired power level (15W, 35W, 45W, 65W, or 80W). Start with a lower setting and increase if necessary, observing the plastic's reaction.

7.2 Welding Process

  1. Position Staple: Place the staple, held by the welding gun, directly over the crack or damaged area.
  2. Activate Heating: Press the trigger button on the welding gun. The staple will heat up rapidly.
  3. Embed Staple: Gently press the hot staple into the plastic until it is embedded below the surface. The plastic around the staple will melt and fuse.
  4. Release and Cool: Release the trigger button. Hold the staple in place for a few seconds to allow the plastic to cool and solidify around it.
  5. Repeat: Repeat the process along the length of the crack, spacing staples appropriately for strength.
  6. Trim Excess: Once the plastic has fully cooled and solidified, use the provided cutting pliers or diagonal cutter to trim off any protruding ends of the staples.

  • Electrode Care: Periodically inspect the welding gun electrodes for any residue or damage. Gently clean them if necessary, ensuring they are free from plastic buildup.
  • Storage: Store the plastic welder kit in its original carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly check the power cord and welding gun cable for cuts, fraying, or other damage. Replace if any damage is found.
