- Environment: Place the KVM switch in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, or dusty environments.
- Cable Management: Ensure all cables are neatly organized and not excessively bent or strained to prevent damage to the connectors or cables themselves.
- Power: The device is USB powered. Ensure stable USB power is supplied from the connected computers.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KAGO HDMI KVM Switch, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
No Display or Flickering Screen:
- Check Cables: Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and the computers/monitor. Try using different HDMI cables if available.
- Power Cycle: Disconnect all cables from the KVM switch, wait a few seconds, then reconnect them. Power on the monitor first, then the computers.
- Resolution Settings: Verify that the display resolution of your computers is supported by the KVM switch (up to 4K@30Hz). If experiencing issues, try setting the resolution to 1080P 60Hz on the problematic computer and gradually increase it.
- Mac Compatibility: For Mac OS users, ensure your display settings are configured correctly. Some users have reported success by adjusting resolution and refresh rates.
Keyboard or Mouse Not Responding:
- Check USB Connections: Ensure the keyboard and mouse are plugged into the correct USB ports on the KVM switch.
- USB Power: The KVM switch is USB powered. If multiple USB devices are connected, ensure sufficient power is supplied from the connected computers. If one computer is off, try turning on another connected computer to provide additional power.
- Try Different Ports: Connect the keyboard and mouse to different USB ports on the KVM switch.
- Direct Connection Test: Connect the keyboard and mouse directly to the computer to confirm they are functioning correctly.
Switching Issues:
- Verify Connections: Double-check that both the HDMI and USB cables for each computer are connected to the same numbered input on the KVM switch.
- Try Both Switching Methods: Attempt to switch using both the front panel buttons and the desktop controller to isolate the issue.
- LED Indicators: Observe the LED indicators to confirm if the KVM switch registers the input change.
